WTF - God saved him

abc video - Ebola Survivor: 'Today Is a Miraculous Day'

If God saved an American doctor with Ebola, why did he let 1,200 Africans die?

Lucky Dr Kent Brantly, the American doctor who has recovered from Ebola, having been given a dose of the experimental antibody serum Zmapp, whizzed home to the US, and given another dose. He is now thanking God for saving his life. Through the medical team and drugs, he admits, but ultimately, it seems, God was in charge. And he chose Brantly, not the other 1,200 mainly west African people who have died horribly, which seems a bit picky.

Really? Someone just survived a disease with a 60-90% mortality rate and no known cure and people are complaining when he thanks god for surviving? Geez people, grow a skin.

Two Liberian medical workers discharged after recovering from Ebola

Voinjama, Liberia (CNN) -- Two more medical workers have survived Ebola.

Dr. Senga Omeonga and physician assistant Kynda Kobbah were discharged from a Liberian treatment center on Saturday after recovering from the virus, according to the World Health Organization.

They were given ZMapp -- the experimental drug that's credited with saving the lives of two Americans infected with Ebola.

What I find really disturbing is that even with all the protective crap they wear they still get Ebola. WHY?

I herd in a recent news interview that ZMapp is 100% effective in monkeys and they think is may well be the same or very close in humans . Lets hope so and they start producing it in large amounts quickly before it gets out of control and they won't be able to make the stuff fast enough

It was already the worst Ebola outbreak in history. Now it’s moving into Africa’s cities.

FREETOWN, Sierra Leone — The dreaded Ebola virus came to the children’s hospital in the form of a 4-year-old boy.

His diagnosis became clear three days after he was admitted. The Ola During hospital — the nation’s only pediatric center — was forced to close its steel gates. Fear swelled. The boy died. The 30 doctors and nurses who had contact with him were placed in quarantine, forced to nervously wait out the 21 days it can take for the virus to emerge.

That's not good Lynn i guess the death toll is going to start to rise really bad if it's in Freetown . People are going to start to leave the country and it's going to spread quick . where was the boy for the other 2 weeks prier to him showing symtoms and how many people already infected by him or his perants ?

How about those 30 peoples spouses and children? Are they in quartine also?
As for reusing the protective garments I would hope that they would be sterilized first. Not just washed. Another consideration is that maybe Ebola can survive through normal steliriization procedeures. Something that the prions in mad cow diasease can do.

Don't worry. Antibiotics don't work against viruses, they only work against bacteria. Immunization is our best defense against viruses but there are antivirus drugs and antibody treatment that works with a very limited number of viruses.

'Ebola Is Real' on Streets of Monrovia

The rain-soaked roads of Monrovia tell an ominous truth: Ebola is real.

The message is spray-painted on walls in the capital of Liberia, the country hardest hit by the worst-ever Ebola outbreak. Nearly 700 people have died here, but denial and government mistrust continue to fuel the virus’s spread.
