I just found the old Thread and I wanted to revive it, but it's locked and I can't post there anymore. I'm sure some of you guys have very nice crunchers and I'm eager to see them! I'm afraid I don't have much to offer myself, I'm sure you all have seen a laptop and a mobile phone before, but anyway, here are my two dedicated SETI crunchers: |

If you wish, I believe you can red-x a post in the old locked thread and request that the mods reopen it so you can make some current posts in it. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

There's a new (months old) thread called Show and tell your machine...I'll look for it and link it here http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=73909&postid=1468859 I need to update my entries as I modified one of my crunchers with 2 new GTX 780 and stuck a 200 mm fan on the side instead of panel, lol Zalster Edit.. I'll probably wait before I update my photos. I'm waiting on a new liquid radiator cooler for the CPU on my second computer as the old one is spinning way up, as are the temps. So once I get that new radiator in, i'll post new pics |

Hey, I'll play. This is my newest cruncher A real powerhouse :D But it only draws about 20 watts, and can get though about 7 W/Us a day. Best of all it was free. Rescued from the bin where it had been consigned after a hard life at a local sawmill. Hard disk was dead, but a 120gb disk from a deceased donor laptop and it's back in business. It's working a bit harder now than it's previous life where it ran linux and a Terminal Services client. Anyway, there's some budget crunching for ya. ;) Ian |

Well the top of the desk has changed now, but the 2 rigs underneath are still the same. The 3570K on the left and the 2500K on the right, both housed in Cooler Master 942 HAF-X cases. Cheers. |

Cliff, That looks almost exactly what one of mine looks like, lol (for now, it's going to be modified soon). Ok, i'll show you what I have so far on my top cruncher. I pulled out the 2 GTX 650 Tis and replaced them with GTX 780 SC but the Temps inside the case was getting too hot so I removed the side panel and jury rigged a 200 mm Fan in it's place, lol. But it works 17 C cooler!! Zalster |

So much for show and tell . HELP !!!!!! This site does not host images. The image tag, as noted in the Use BBCode tags to format your text help, is just a pointer to where the image is elsewhere on the internet. If the images are huge, for the sake of those with slower internet connections, it is generally nicer to just provide a link to them instead of using the img tag. Ok that Corsair radiator arrived a day early. Unfortunately it won't fix the top of my case so I had to figure something out. Fixed it to the side panel and put the fans on the outside to push air in thru the radiator. CPU temps down about 23 C so good trade off 2 GTX650 Ti boost and 1 GTX 650 Ti a GTX 750 Ti connect by a riser and molex connector The radiator connected to the side panel and covering the chip side view of the case with 2 140 mms fans pushing air thru the radiator. You can see 2 more 140's on the top pulling hot air out of the case |
