Awwww... :) I have a cat who does that all the time :))))) By the way he washes himself afterwards I think he's trying to suggest that he was aerodynamically challenged by dirt... I'm not buying it :)

Do raccoons do running long jump?

I can't +1 the raccoon story because the raccoon was most likely
killed so it could be tested for rabies.

That's what the story says.

:-(

My apologies, Suzie-Q, and everyone, for posting the story :-(

In my personal case, no apology necessary. Sad but true, what Chris S
said.

Indeed, they can run quite well, even with paws full of stolen food!

(I have to confess that I crack up every time I watch this gif.)

Kitten update from Suzie-Q's House of Cats:

One of the kittens I rescued has turned out to be deaf. For that reason I
have located a person who is willing to take in a "special need" kitten and
keep her indoors while caring for her medical needs (vaccination and spay).
This woman has a couple other special needs cats, so she's a good choice, imho.

I still have the other two. Still need to have them vaccinated and spayed
on or around the beginning of November. They'll be five months old at that
point.

Today I saw four tiny kittens on my front porch eating the cat food I put out
for the feral cats. No sign of mama cat. I'm trying to decide what to do. I
have three choices:

1. Ignore them and "let nature take its course."

2. "Rescue" them. That will mean I'll need more money to care for them, first
to rid them of the eye goop problem they have and then to vaccinate and spay/
neuter them. (It seems all of the kittens born to this feral colony have the
eye problem.)

3. Gather them up and hand them over to Animal control, where they will surely
be euthanized (because they're sick).

It's amazing how much I let this sort of thing bother me. Sometimes I wish I
had a very hard heart so that I just wouldn't care.

I'm not sure raccoons run real good.

Raccoons run very well, usually on all fours though. They are extraordinary climbers, but poor jumpers as Es's video illustrates.

Those kittens sure are cute, Suzie-Q! Sorry to hear that there are more.

Actually, that was only one kitten, the deaf one. I just took several photos
of her sleeping on the TV remote from different angles.

The sad thing is that there will always be more.

:) Wonder why the cats looks surprised?
My girlfriend was afraid of cats before.
Mayby because when she was a Child she met a wild Lynx in the forest.
Anyway she had a cat once who got 6 kittens.
The cats Always stayed away from her.
Even at dinnertime. All cats waited quitely until the catmother nodded 'Dinners served'

Swedish Lynx.

We need those exoskeleton now! The "National Day Golden Week" begins around October 1st.
The laying of the "Golden Road", mainly promotional campaign for the mall 18 anniversary and Golden Week, for shopping customers "hit gold blessing", is expected to end after the Golden Week.

1 of the regular visitors of my front garden.

Though he or she is a little camera shy.

Then there's the locals who hang out down behind the tennis courts near the river.

These are definitely not shy at all.

Cheers.
