Raccoons seem to be a hot commodity right now, especially given that recent movie with a raccoon space hero, but we all know we were way ahead of the trend here in the Critter Cafe!!! |

Vic, is that first ornament supposed to be Mercury or the sun? If it is the sun, it is way too small. If it is mercury then that means the last one is Pluto. Sorry Ulibelle and Rob, but that one has to go! |

There are some pretty big Kuiper Belt Objects out there wanting that distinction too. |

Sorry Ulibelle and Rob, but that one has to go! Vic, for heavens sake, I wasn't jumping down your throat!!! I was asking a question and gently teasing Uli and Rob. As for Pluto, I am sorry that so many people are attached to it. Astronomers have determined that it is part of the Kuiper Belt. There are dozens of Pluto-sized things in that belt. Pluto doesn't stand out in that crowd. If you want to call everything Pluto-sized a "planet" then there would be thousands of planets on our solar system. You would have to include Pluto-sized bodies in the Oort Cloud, the Asteroid Belt and the Kuiper Belt. We are much better at detecting things in our solar system now than we were when Pluto was first discovered. Pluto was justifiably "demoted" from planet status after we learned more about what is zipping around in our galactic neighborhood. |

Sorry Ulibelle and Rob, but that one has to go! Ok, The 9th one on the lower right might be Mercury, while the top left might be the sun, I can't say what sizes the sun is in relation to the others in the set, since all the pics were not taken as group. Would I buy this set? Yes and no, Yes I would, but since I don't have a proper tree and a place to put it in this fixer that I live in, I won't be buying a set, as I have more important things to get, I just thought people would like this, since this is Seti and XMAS is coming, so I thought this would be appropriate.
