why pay for it if we can get it for free

Exactly! My sister in law lets me use her Wifi... I don't pay for it myself.

You should use encrypted Wifi of course.
I`m using WPA2 plus VPN.

I'm using Telenet Homespot, seldom have problems with it... I use Veerle's user name and password.

The Home Hub 5 defaults to WPA2, I don't need VPN.

Of course you dont need it but its nice to have it.

I`ve got a mail from my online video store where i sometimes watch a movie.

"We can`t get any information of your hardware in use"

I just replied Thats fine thank you for this information.

A gig for a fiver? That's not bad.

WoW, thats strange isn`t it ?

I do have a strange family at times grmpf, don't get me started...

Would it cost her anything to let you use it? My home internet is (I think) unlimited, or a huge amount per month, so it doesn't bother me if a guest uses it. Except I never have guests. But if I did, I would trust them not to hack me, and fear of hacking is the only reason I don't just have it open for anyone to use.

At my place I just give a person a network cable and tell them to pick any switch that they'd like to plug into. :-D

Cheers.

For a while until they got a router I hosted the
I-Phone of a 14 year old neighbour boy.
(A very promising young man in deed.)

It all comes down to a matter of principle. I object big time to people coming round to my house using my internet that I pay for, for free. They are out of luck. If it is family that is different, that costs me no more if they use it or if they don't.

If they're coming just to freeload your wifi, that's one thing, but a guest in your house is another, family or not. IMHO.

I don't know how it works... *mystified frown* *note other mystified frowns* Suppose I should narrow that statement down a little :) I THINK there is a limit to how many computers can feed off my wireless connection but it's a misty memory that I blah-blahed at the time as I don't connect wirelessly myself. I'm not sure if that's because of technical restrictions, or whether more could but would incur extra charges. My daughter, my niece and one of my son's friends are the only ones who have so far, and I was happy to let them. I'd certainly let my sister do so if she wanted/needed to though and friends too I think.

Hahahahahahahaha LOL.... This morning at the station was sooooo funny. Wingdi and I were waiting for the train to leave when 7 security guys of the station walk towards us.

Are those your dogs?

Ahem...Yes sir.

Did they crap all over the income of the station?

Euh... No sir...

How can we believe you?

Because I'm the most honest person on the face of this planet.

You can't prove a thing.

You do have camera's at the station ey?

Yes

Well...

It will take us too much time to retrieve the images...

You'd better do something about the real criminals who hang around here all the time.

Yes miss...

You have a good day now:)

Ok...

Bye!

ROFLMAO!! That was, again, a most interesting morning:))
