Right here in my home state of Wisconsin. Dedicated just last month.
Flying a 60 x 120 foot United States flag that weighs either 220 or 350 pounds, depending on the weather. The technical info is quite interesting.
Sponsored by Acuity Insurance.

Thought some of you might enjoy a bit of more positive news on American patriotism. It is truly an awesome structure. Very inspiring.
God Bless America.

Amazing flagpole.
More pics and info.

Mark,

Truly amazing project.

Above all, what a statement it makes.

Probably would have been a popular spot with these folks.

This flagpole is I think the tallest in California and is 184' tall, which places the top of the pole at sea level.

I've gotten emails with the link to that video from 6 different people this week. Next time I'm back in Milwaukee or Winneconne visiting relatives, I'll have to go see it, and the old Manitowac Shipyard....

My Dad was born in Sheboygan, so that's his home town...he originally emailed me the story, and I thought it was nifty enough to pass along.
The technical aspects of it's construction were interesting to me.
As well as the patriotic gesture it represents.
