As a sometimes rather melancholy cat, I would just like to point some of you in the direction of a lovely cat site that sometimes helps me shake it off.

Stories of those who admire kittyness above all else, and have given many little kittens a new lease on life. There are kitty tears at times, but mostly wonderful stories about how one single kind thought has saved a kitten's life.

Please do enjoy the site.

Oh poor kitties!!! They must be genetically programmed to think those cucumbers are snakes. There is no way I'm going to try that with my cats.

Cat discovers GNOME desktop bug
Coming soon: Dog rewrites Linux kernel

It's a tip of the open source hat today to a cat belonging to one Christoph Reiter, which recently discovered a bug in Linux desktop GNOME.

Christoph was running GS 3.18.1 in Debian sid when, for reasons likely related to the familiar "uninvited feline on keyboard" scenario, the following catastrophic sequence was initiated:

* Press <super>+l to lock
* Press Escape and hold

Grace & I had company today, a short haired Black and White cat, real friendly too, if I knew the cat was fixed, I'd have kept the cat, which seems to be well fed and clean, turns out the cat invites itself into peoples mobile homes, I opened My door and the cat walked right in, sorry no pic, that didn't cross My mind, I could have called Him 'George', I also don't know if the cat is potty trained or not.

If "he" walked right in he was very domesticated and probably had a warm home with people feeding him. If my theory is true the animal understands litter boxes or the people who feed him would probably not put up with him. The basic bargain is I'll feed you if you use the litter box. That's a good deal for the cat and most understand.Those cats who don't probably should not be around people.

Well 'He' was definitely well fed, next time I see Him, I'll see about feeding Him and getting a pic, Grace didn't hiss, so She must have liked Him.

Cat missing for 8 years reunited with family in California

NOVATO, Calif. — A cat that was missing for more than eight years has been reunited with her family thanks to a man who took her to an animal shelter.

Marin Humane Society spokeswoman Lisa Bloch said Sunday that Rick Benson had been feeding the orange tabby near his shop in Novato for about two months until he decided to take the stray feline for a checkup at the animal shelter.

Bloch says luckily the cat was micro-chipped and the shelter was able to contact her owners, Nancy and Stephen Payne, who reunited with Ginger on Wednesday.

Bloch says Ginger was just a kitten when she ran away from her Novato home.

She says reuniting a pet missing for eight years with their owners is a record for the organization.
