+100 :)

I came across a really cute clip recently. Sadly it was of a lonely Lynx in a zoo but it had been befriended by a stray domestic cat. They were taking it in turns to wash each other - and whilst just a couple of licks from the lynx pretty much covered all the bases for the stray - the stray was utterly exhausted trying to do the same for it's new friend :) I'll have a root around tomorrow to see if I can find it :)

You're welcome. :^) One of our cats was found as a stray kitten in the winter under a highway overpass. When we brought her home we wondered if the adult male would accept her. Soon we found them curled up in the pet bed cleaning each other like this. They are certainly endearing beasties, aren't they?

Cats know more about life than we do, as theirs is way too short.

My truest wish?
I should be the Rainbow Bridge keeper. And watch all the beloved come up and reunite them when the time is due. And keep them happy in the meantime.

Give me a moment........
I think I was the first kitty person on Seti...or thereabouts.

Nobody used to talk about cats.
Never, almost verbotten.

I don't remember the watershed moment, but one day I started talking about my kitties...they were young then.

And slowly but surely the Seti kitty culture was born.

As I remember it...........
I don't recall many kitties here before I introduced them.
I am sure there are exceptions to this, but not many, as I recall it.

Zapped Sparky, you made my day! :-)

And thank you Byron, Anniet, and pleased to meet you, Mr. Kevvy!

Don't be jealous, Mark. There's plenty of room for Cat People; after all the internet is made of cats! cats! cats!

All, please post more!

CC

I believe I paved the way for Seti kitties of all types.
Jealous?? LOL. Not at all. I pet all kitties of all manner of their being.
Cats is cats. You just cannot take that away from me.
No, you can't take them away from ME.
The way they meow, the way they munch their food. The way they have big eyes. No, you can't take them away from me.

Not always cute and cuddly
http://www.nbcnews.com/science/science-news/gang-feral-cats-attacks-woman-her-dog-france-f6C10765319

Cats protect their territory.
This is going to be a larger problem as man continues to mark land as his own, and denies the territorial rights of cats and other animals.
I can see this on the tiny little world that my cats live in.
One will howl and hiss when they perceive that another has taken their choice spot on the bed beside me. They cherish that spot so much. They actually fight over it. Not that I starve them for attention, by no means.

And the staring contests...LOL....wow.

Anniet, have you seen the full-length movie, including the return one year after he's back in Africa? It's not on YouTube. I'm going to order it from the guys' site.

Thanks for posting that.

CC

Hi CC - no I haven't :( I've seen the clip of the return though. I think I'm going to HAVE to trudge over to his site too... :)

Your other clip of the lady who rescued the lion...... Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww :)

Another reason for this attack could have been if they'd come between the cats and any kittens they were protecting. Older siblings can be doting surrogates when mum is away, and just as fiercely protective of their young charges.

You do get the odd beastie with psychotic tendencies though. I remember during a brief visit to England as a young child - my gran's neighbour had a HUGE persian that terrorised the neighbourhood. It's speciality whilst we were staying with her was emitting a banshee shriek and impaling my head with every sharp bit it possessed. Gave my lungs a really good work out every time... Didn't put me off cats though :)

Kitty version, eh?

Some of us get our empowerment from Cats.
Some people (me, as in myself) find cats in every nook and cranny of their lives.
