James Garner.
CNN's obit.

I loved him most in the Rockford Files series, but of course he did so much else.

I'm sad to hear this. Loved the Rockford Files, of course. I'd like to read his memoir - The Garner Files.

I was just looking at his work, and apparently he was in Fire in the Sky, a sci-fi film in the early 90's I vaguely remember seeing.

I liked his role as "The Scrounger" in the Great Escape. He must have enjoyed that role as he was his company's scrounger in Korea.
