We do hope all of you in California don't
get to distressed with the rain. Good thing
now the drought may be over.

Grant seemed to be really glad with the rain. People over there can use it, as long as the weather gods don't exaggerate, all is well I guess:)

Just started to rain here. My back fence tried to topple over, so did some quick emergency shore up.

The County is out, cleaning up leaf piles. So no glogged drains at least for a bit.

Until the snow pack in the Sierras is at 110% of normal, the drought will still be here in California.

On a second note, I got the new sticky electrical outlet gasket installed behind the 57" DLP TV, I had to slide the TV out of the way, get down on the carpet on My knees(halfway thru I had to lay on My side), remove the surge protector, then the outlet cover plate, then remove the old gasket, then I installed the new gasket which sticks to the wall, which the old ones did not do and then I reattached everything and then did the hard thing, I got up off the floor, so I now have 3 more outlets to do, but not today...

Most likely Monday I get to do some outdoor plumbing with the help of a neighbor.

I have a leak on the main line that needs to be fixed as it is leaking about 7500 gallons a month currently.

OOCH. I have some leakeage here too, but have a seperate shut off valve, so I still have my indoor water. Will deal with that in the spring.

Anyway, none of the bad wind that was forcast yet, but the streets are starting to flood.

Luckily I don't have to deal with a sewer bill here.

I have no shutoffs inside except for the toilets, so to fix anything I have to turn off all the water.

I hope you get the pipes fixed soon Arkayn, the ones here were brand new in 2006, they can take HOT water and FREEZING temps, though pex is what most will install today, instead of what I have, which is CPVC pipe, since Hot is Red and cold is BLUE in Pex...

But then I live in a fixer upper that happens to be a mobile home, in Feb if the park can't fix the heater, I'll put out the money, lately I've been installing stick on outlet and light switch gaskets, they stick to the switch/outlet and to the box, most of the time this makes a good weather tight seal, I've got 3 outlets to go before I'm out of the duplex outlet gaskets, how many more outlets do I have left in the house that could use a gasket? Maybe as many as 9 outlets and 3 light switches(1 single and 2 dual ganged), though I'm only going to do that switch and the 3 outlets, 1 in the kitchen(1/3, 2 are behind the refrig and the gas range), 2 in the living room(1 each is behind a 100 gallon aquarium and 1 or 2 bookshelves, the dual ganged switch is partly covered by a book case), the outlets that aren't in the kitchen/living room are in a bedroom that gets used for storage that I leave unheated. Eventually in the next 8 years I'll replace 3 windows and have the mobile home exterior painted, question is, what color? Well I think I have an idea on that, maybe (Match of True Valueâ„¢ 3712 Transcend) with (Decorators white) paint for the trim... Maybe. I found these two colors at http://www.myperfectcolor.com/.

Storm after storm has rolled through here all day, if they keep up then I may need a canoe to get around.

We did however reach 26C.

Cheers.

Here's a birch bark canoe for ya Wiggo, lady not included...

I just may need that Vic as we've had over 175mm/7" in just the last 2 weeks here. :-(

Hopefully, if the forecast is right, we shouldn't get any rain here today (but so far this morning it's not looking that promising).

Cheers.

With the temps lowering I wonder when we'll get some snow? Forecast says currently: No snowball fights for you.

No rain here for a change and although we did get to 22C the wind made it feel like 15C.

Cheers.

Healdsburg got pounded and got quite a bit of surface flooding. A mini street flood here made the local paper and possibly TV.

Now it is on to Gary and Donald.

Last night was certainly very un-summerish Julie as the temp dropped down to 11C and the wind made it feel like 4C, though it's not unheard of around here as we have had snow up here during summer before.

Cheers.
