I see yer puddle, here be lava lakes... ;) Though today is supposed to be cooler than yesterday, Thursday was 109F/43C. Today Mostly sunny. Highs 103F/39C to 106F/41C. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Death Valley a few days ago was 120F+, thankfully I don't live there... Thankfully I don't live in Baker CA either, that is the gateway to Death Valley CA and places like Furnace Creek population of 24 as of 2010, elevation 190 feet below sea level and Furnace Creek is an Oasis.  Two of the Park's major tourist facilities, the Furnace Creek Inn and Furnace Creek Ranch, are located here. The Furnace Creek Golf Course (originally Death Valley Golf Course) attached to the Ranch claims to be the lowest in the world, at 214 feet (65 m) below sea level. Most of the lodging is closed in the summer, when temperatures can surpass 125°F(52°C), but the golf course remains open; the resort went so far as to establish a summer tournament in 2011 called the Heatstroke Open, which drew a field of 48.[4] There is also a restaurant, cafe, store, and gas station in Furnace Creek village. Currently a mere 68F, with the wind chill (yes, wind chill) also 68, but I can feel the dew point rising, now at 59. Supposed to be warm and humid later today, with a low of 69 tonight. HOT and humid tomorrow, near 90. Less so on Sunday, but still hotter than today. I think I'll have to turn on the AC by this evening. Had to sleep with the fan on all last night.
