This was once a serious thread, perhaps it is time to lock it .

Please back on topic and everyone remember you are discussing a civilian airliner that crashed killing 298 people.

So a little respect from all please.

MH17: 70 international experts search Ukraine crash site for bodies

Kiev, Ukraine (CNN) -- The grisly search for human remains from Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 entered a new phase Friday, as the largest group yet of international experts scoured the crash site in eastern Ukraine.

In total, 70 Dutch and Australian experts reached the scene, many more than had made it there previously in the two weeks since the crash, in which 298 people lost their lives.

Normally, (I think) investigators look for parts that can be identified.
Usually, parts of BUK missile have a serial number or similar who can say which country it belongs to.
Unfortunately, I think that the reason why it took 2 weeks before Western experts were allowed to examine the place, is because the DPR have cleaned the place thoroughly.
No missile parts left!

More human remains and passenger belongings recovered from MH17 crash site

AUSTRALIAN police have recovered more human remains and passenger belongings from the MH17 crash site during their first visit to the area.

Federal police were part of an 80-strong Australian and Dutch team that has spent five hours combing farmland, paddocks and villages in eastern Ukraine in an operation that could last up to 10 days.

While deadly clashes between Ukrainian government troops and pro-Russian rebels continued nearby, the recovery mission was not under threat, Australian Federal Police national security specialist Andrew Colvin said.

Now I am a bit confused.
It's night in Ukraine right now so I don't think they are working now.
Anyway. Good to here that the team can work in safety at last:)

Sorry Julie all i could think of when i read there was 81 still left was owww .

When i first left school my first job was in a slaughterhouse and it took some time to get used to the smell so i don't envy the AFP officers at all.

This did no come down in one piece; wreckage is spread out over 8 miles. There are also some very large pieces that will require heavy equipment to move to see what is tangled inside.

Today neither the rebels nor Ukrainian forces are in full control of the site.
Fresh fighting in eastern Ukraine has forced an international forensics team to halt operations in part of the vast crash site of Malaysian flight MH17.

:( :(

Ukrainian military launched today an unmanned aircraft to detect Russian air defense mercenaries.
After the drone completed the task, the rebels shot him down with anti-aircraft missile launcher "Buk M-1."
Perhaps it is with such an installation professional mercenaries shot down the peaceful passenger aircraft "Boeing - 777", - concluded Lysenko.

Cadaver dogs assist in Ukraine crash site search; more remains found

(CNN) -- Despite mortar fire echoing Saturday in the distance, the international team combing through the wreckage of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 in eastern Ukraine felt safe enough to carry out its recovery mission for a second consecutive day.

A respite from the fighting close to the July 17 crash site meant free reign for two cadaver dogs and 70 recovery team members. They scoured the debris field left by MH17, and they found human remains and personal belongings in and around a chicken farm near the village of Grabovo, Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg, head of the Dutch recovery mission, said in a statement.

The Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 disaster should have been a wake-up call for Vladimir Putin. It wasn’t.
http://www.centredaily.com/2014/08/02/4289600/trudy-rubin-west-must-outsmart.html?sp=/99/145/
In his family’s communal apartment, hordes of rats had gathered in the entryway and Putin drove one huge rat into a corner. With nowhere to run, the rat threw itself at the startled boy, then jumped the landing and ran past him. “There on that stair landing, I got a … lasting lesson in the meaning of the word cornered,” said Putin.
“He said that experience taught him a good lesson. Never to put yourself in a corner,” recalled Natalya Gevorkyan, one of the interviewers who compiled “First Person: An Astonishingly Frank Self-Portrait by Russia’s President.”
“He’s exactly the same now,” she told me. “When he’s in a corner, he jumps.”
Yet, at the end of this anecdote, Putin added that he outsmarted the rat. “I was a little faster, and I managed to slam the door shut in its nose,” he said.

Putin is smarter than a rat:)

MH17: war escalating near Malaysia Airlines crash site

WAR is escalating in the immediate area of the Malaysia Airlines crash site, making the work of Australian and Dutch investigators increasingly dangerous.

Yesterday an incoming missile exploded near a convoy of investigators as they headed on their daily ritual to collect human remains from flight MH17.
