I don't see why you all need an investigation anyway. You are already certain that the US tracked the missile from launch to impact. The missile was certainly a Soviet-era Buk anti-aircraft missile. And those operating that launcher were quite definitely trained Russians pretending to be separatists.

In your mind there are no other possible scenarios.

Those boxes can't be tampered with without being detected. Form what I understand they can't even be read by most countries.
