http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=325480

I don't normally go digging around in other peoples Accounts to see what their Computers are doing but since I have one Computer that has 32 of the last 35 WU's it's turned in just go into the Pending Bin I started looking at some of the other other hosts that received the same WU's to see if there was a problem with one of them...

I couldn't really find anything wrong with the ones I had already done other than the people simply hadn't done them yet so I looked ahead at some of the ones I was going to be doing on this computer to see if this trend was going to continue with this computer ...

What I ran across was this host " http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=325480 " thats just not doing anything to me ... 864 total results with about 844 of them download errors, 19 validation errors and just 1 successful WU that showed 0:00 time to finish ...

Somebody needs to send him an E-Mail and ask him to look at his computer to see whats wrong with it and why it gets so many download errors, and why he only gets validation errors for the few that do get through to him ... IMO

It took me a while to figure out what this message thread's title is referring to...

"rouge", in English, is a cosmetic for coloring the cheeks or lips red. In French it simply means "red". I couldn't figure out why this was a "red host", unless it meant a red flag, or red warning, or something. (Which makes perfectly good sense, BTW...)

Perhaps the intended word is "rogue"? Indeed that machine certainly is a rogue!!!

Hi Bill and Patsy
You can probably blame it on me!

I believe I started the Rogue classification and probably transposed the letters! I do that allot. I am a fan of Rouge and Love it on the ladies that need some color or is that colour....

I try to used spell check but if I am in a hurry that’s what happens

Happy Holidays!

Quick look, the "validation error" is due to couldn't get the exe-file, this means all his results is download-errors. This is happening both with seti v4.07 & v4.08, he have yet not managed to download the exe.

ROM are you checking these threads, I have included your name so hopefully you are doing a search and at least looking wherever it shows up.
This host:

Problem #1. Anonymity is not guaranteed here...

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Edition, Service Pack 2, (05.00.2195.00)
Memory: 253.98 MB

Problem #2. Probably has the hard drive grinding like Saturday Night Fever...

Average upload rate: 0.4 KB/sec
Problem #3. This guy's using a 4800bps modem??

I think we're all going to have to come up with ideas on how to prevent single CPUs from requesting excessive WUs - Don't just pin it on Rom.

FTR: That's not a dig at you, mikey.

No offense taken, I put Rom's name in the message because he seems to pop in and out in different places and I was hoping he would be searching on his own name. That would bring his attention to this thread and maybe he would try and fix this persons computer.
