*Gasp* Oh Mrs Miggins that is indeed a tasty mouthful!

I surmise Sidney may have been more than just speechless... but somewhat overwhelmed on his first encountering it's oh-so-warm depths! :) It would be positively paroxysmical to sample it thank you :)

Do you not think it deplorable however *munch* what has happened to delights *munch munch* such as these, outside the walls of emporiums such as *another munch* your own though? *delicate burp*

I mean... I remember when a spotted dick looked like a spotted dick! *pensive frown* Yet... on wandering the high street yesterday... I could not believe what I happened upon... I am almost ashamed to even present it to one so fine as you.

I DO hope Sidney has not fallen foul of one and that you locate him somewhere on the beach... and that he is behaving himself of course! :)

Good morning Byron, how does this day find you?

anniet, Sidney at this very moment, is hotfooting it to Northern climbs, where, I have been reliably informed he is taking part in a local ritual involving three minced cobblers, a toad in the hole and a pickled gherkin.

What than man will do for a peck on the cheek.

Anyway, I've been whiling away the time by making a little drop of iced tea for this hot afternoon.

It's been another busy day, I've been polishing my trinkets why Sidney is off galavanting. He was supposed to be helping me avoid a soggy bottom with my new recipe.

Nevermind, here's my latest batch.

That WILL fill a hole Mrs Miggins! Ta very much :) Taken my mind right off my chelsea buns!

(They have risen far TOO rampantly than I am accustomed to and the most alarming bulges have appeared all over them. Made me feel quite faint it has. Perhaps a resounding pummeling would be in order?

I've always thought one feels better after a good work out.

My Esteemed colleagues,

A short while ago I was entrusted with a mission of the most delicate nature, to investigate apparent sullies, that had they been left unchecked, could have compromised the reputation of one Muriel Miggins, Emporium Proprietress of notoriety. Therefore I was off and honour for a while, towards that end.

After an exhaustive investigation as to whom might have had the propensity to have uttered these, if one will excuse the phrase unmentionables, I can report that no trace of any culprit has yet been found. The trio of Shoe menders, returned home, the amphibian was later released unharmed, and I shall draw a discreet veil over the remaining item.

However in my absence, I have been informed by telegraph, that the Lady in question has suffered from an affliction of a dampened posterior, and I shall therefore make arrangements to repare to the shores of dear England to lend a warm hand to the said malady.

Affectionately Yours,

Sidney J. Snodgrass (Retd)

All dampened posteriors must indeed be addressed post haste Mr Snodgrass! I for one am most relieved to learn that dear Mrs Miggins's rear end will be warmed by your hand hastening so gallantly in its direction! I trust you will keep us posted as to your progress, as and when your hand is, of course, free of any encumbrances?

Twixt now and then, dear England's shores will await with baited breath for your imminent and much pined for return :)

I am delighted to admit to having chewed on one of Mrs.Miggins' pasties the other day, quite delightful, full of flavorsome meat and not at all dry, nicely firm to the touch, but tender to the bite.

Treat Sidney to some Cocovan, infuse plenty of lardon, adds more flavour to
the end result.

Dear Mrs. Miggins,

Please accept my apologies for not having introduced myself until now. I am Gordon Lowe, from Kentucky.

Your emporium is quite tempting, and I hope to partake very soon.

I'm glad you like what I have to offer, it's not much, but I've not had many complaints.

Ive just pulled these out of the oven.

I've got to nip out now, I have a cookery lesson with a gentleman whom I met while on my many travels he's a chef with amazing talents and he's offered to teach me cake decoration.

He has all sorts of professional kitchen equipment, and as I've been having trouble keeping enough pressure on my icing dispenser for complete coverage, he's promised to show me how to squeeze his hard on to the top of the cake.

A good twist at the top to prevent leakage from the wrong end Mrs Miggins... followed by firm steady pressure and no shaking - works a positive treat! :)

edit: that is when faced with a bag and accompanying nozzle, of course. If one of those hard cylindrical plunging devices is what you will be getting your hands on - well... a good shoving works for me - though one does risk getting somewhat splattered... air pockets you know... :)

I know what you mean anniet, a firm grip is essential to ensure you get the desired effect.

Merciful heavens!!! I do hope my beloved Eric steers clear of all the little tarts found in Miggins' newly opened shoppe. The poor man does suffer from hardening... of the arteries, don't you know.
