Funny story: back when I went to a log cabin school and the word O'clock came up my teacher said it had to be just that, in spelling sher said it had to be O'clock and not o'clock and got zip on my spelling. Boy was she wrong. :))

That's interesting. I just thought the o was an abbreviation for "of".

An apostrophe replaces other letters with a single character to save the space of two words. e.g. in "that's correct", it replaces the letter i, to save printing that is.

The apostrophe in o'clock replaces "f the". o'clock means "of the clock." it stems from the time when not many people could afford mechanical timepieces.

Right Julie, one thing Chris does is pull out all the stops and get to the bottom of it.

Brewski of clock :)
Cheers everybody

OOOOOOOOooookay Julie, what a forward pass over the rockies, put my hands out and dropped right in my hands. :)))) The beer is here and chilling in the fridge and can't wait to try it. The cans seem be just fine shape.

Thanks again, hope I can do the same for you sometime,

Well back to brewski of clock. :)

Hello Zapped, Mike and Grant.

I've got a few things on and around the village again this morning, so I could wind up back down the bottom pub again just like yesterday.

Beer O'clock in 3.5hrs.

Cheers.

Hi Grant. It is 95 F right now; however, I'm inside, and it's much cooler inside. The AC is on upstairs; so, this helps. Without AC, I'd be dying.

G'day TL, enjoy that Jager mate.

Stay cool guys. ;-)

All I've got left to do here, before I go doing a few stops around town, is a few dishes.

Beer O'clock in 2hrs.

Cheers.

That's great news, Grant. I'm glad the mail police didn't mess up your delivery!

My mom and I were looking to watch Piers Morgan on CNN tonight. We didn't know the show had been cancelled. We were huge fans of Larry King, and Piers Morgan never really did anything for us, so no big loss, but it would be nice to still have a live tv news call-in show at 9 pm.
