Michael has a life and will be back to make his updates. I do hope that is all it is. We all have expressed our thanks for his past efforts. If you have any other factual input, please advise us. It is not like him to be so long in the update, and my incidental evidence might suspect that something is wrong with our kind friend although he has never posted anything to indicate so. I do so hope that I am simply being a bit worrisome. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Thank you Mark for asking about me here. Your intuition was correct. I broke my ankle a week ago during what was supposed to be a simple day trip, and have just got back from hospital today. I could only get to the hotspot in the canteen after several days and then found I did not have my seti login details with me. I would have contacted someone by email if I had expected to be away much longer. The injury was a fairly simple break (open bimalleolar fracture) with no obvious damage to the ligaments, so I expect it will be OK again in time, Just rather inconvenient for a while. I was treated in an Asklepios hospital and I must say the staff there were superb. The necessary operation took place within a couple of hours of my arrival and the aftercare was brilliant. I'll be posting in the minicities thread "soon". |

Glad you are OK, Michael. Not pretty, but from the sounds of it the least of all evils. Hope you heal quickly. Meow. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Thanks for all the good wishes, folks. Everything is going quite well, ankle is mending fine as far as we can tell. Stitches out and next x-ray on Monday. I imagine I will be much more comfortable with no more stitches. There is at least one good thing about breaking an ankle - I get to use all those odd socks I had not thrown away in case the missing one rematerialised in the washing machine. |

Ouch! I've never broken an ankle, but I did break a leg in 2002, so yeah I have stitches on both sides of My left ankle, plus 3 titanium screws in My leg, of course the ankle is ruined and gets very stiff w/no rehab, but I cope as best as I can. I hope you feel better soon. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |
