I didn't know that Lockheed-Martin, a builder of warplanes like F35, had any research on fusion. The man said his machine would be a high beta experiment but made no reference to ALCATOR of Bruno Coppi. ALCATOR stand for ALto CAmpu TORus (High Field Torus). He made no mention of Tokamaks smaller in size than ITER or of other approaches such a Stellarator. Anyway, let them try. Watch and see. I never heard of Focus Fusion. The only thing I understood was they intend to use the DT-Boron reaction to obtain directly electricity without the need of a thermal interface. Well, let them try too. Tullio |

sorry Tullio i had a few drinks tonight. He talked about capturing or using x-rays as a major part of the reaction . I not so shore the cooling of the Boron Tube would be to much of a problem on a up scaled version capturing the iron or electron stream that comes out the other way i'm not shore can you capture the energy from this ..You never know some times the simplest ideas are the best simple as in elegant The plasma streams that have magnectic twists do resemble pictures and things i've seen about the sun's own magnectic currents that cause flairs and CME's |

Since its beginning, fusion reactions as a energy source have had many approaches (including cold fusion), but now 2 only remain: tokamaks and inertial fusion by lasers, such as tested at Livermore also for military purposes. The Lockheed-Martin machine is a small size tokamak; the Focus Fusion, while interesting, is shown as it was in 2007. None of the two videos mentions the Lawson criterion, that is the product of plasma density, plasma temperature and plasma confinement time. This is the essential parameter of any fusion machine. i wasn't shore what you where talking about Tokamak but after looking up i know what it is ...Na dont like it you have to replace inside all the time expensive and radioativaety down time to do it |

I've not looked at Laser 1's for a long time but they where a long way off then from making it work i only know of the 1 in America which is in the movie star trek |

That is why I said that the problems of tokamaks are not plasma physics problems but engineering problems. Radioactivity is a problem of all reactors, fusion or fission, that is why I believe we should recur to the Sun. A photovoltaic panel may be costly and ungainly but it is not radioactive. Tullio |

Yes Tullio i definitely agree with you on that we have a very small window to build the infrastructure that will be needed to kept us going in the future and we need the 1's we can use now not on the never never so to speak |

Sorry Tullo perhaps i should explain on the never nevr who 1 whom owes you money is trying to give you a B/S reason not to pay you " i'll pay you next week raely i will " yep on the never never :) |
