IIRC, the limit of 10 re-generations was for a "normal" Time Lord, living on Galafry. Our Doctor is anything but normal. The last 40 years or so are just dripping with potential loopholes.

The limit was 12. I (and I think most people) originally interpreted that to mean they could have 12 bodies. When you count John Hurt, that makes Capaldi #13, but they seem to have temporarily gotten around that on semantics: they can regenerate 12 times, so that gives them 13 bodies. I think whatsisname, the executive producer, has already figured out what to do next, but he's keeping it a secret until he needs it.

IIRC, the last Tom Baker story was about the Master trying to get himself a new set of 12 regenerations. He got them , at the cost of a large chunk of space.

Yes but ...

What about the copy of the doctor in the parallel universe? What about the Tardis getting involved in a few re-generations? What about The Doctor-Donna? All rules have been broken, so anything goes at this point.

No secret, David, when Matt Smith was given the power to regenerate into Peter Capaldi, that was the start of a whole new regeneration cycle provided by the Time Lords. So, Capaldi is regeneration one; or, the second in a new line of regenerations from the Matt Smith regeneration. Therefore, the Doctor has 11 more regenerations left in his new set of regenerations. :-)

Hehehe knew they's get around it somehow! They rather had to really, too much money at stake in repeats all round the world, and what would they do with all those unemployed wannabe actresses as sidekicks? I still think that it is making the same mistake as the 007 films have done, in that they are trying to make it too dark to appeal to more adult audiences. The appeal of the original Dr Who series and first 1/2 dozen Timelords was the hiding behind the settee when the baddies came on. The same as Daniel Craig in Bond. not a patch on Connery and never will be.

Two very great genres of films and TV series ruined by big business.

I think you have nailed that Chris. It is dark and too serious. It should be campy and fun. Thats why I dont watch it now. Actually not since Tom Baker left. I do catch the occaisional one that the wife watches. But Im not a fan.

The last episode I have access to is "S7 | Ep14, The Name of the Doctor" Released here in May 0f 2013. Is it pickup from here or were there some episodes in the UK that I have not had access to yet?

I will check with my son for you... and get back to you Carlos... I THINK there might be a hole...

Okay - there was a 50th anniversary special last November and then two Christmas specials (he thinks - called the Day of the Doctor and the Night of the Doctor...)

Edit: not sure whether the new series will pick up from them though... or from the end of the seventh... that's the problem with these time travellers... never know when they're going to pop up :) The specials often stand outside of the main storylines... I think... but I'm not an expert.

If the UK is the 23rd; what does that mean for BBC America??? Are we also the 23rd; or, are we later than that???

Well - everything I've found so far suggests it's the 23rd for you guys too - but I haven't found anything that states that as a bald fact... had to read between the lines and assume it from the absence of any other mentioned dates... and couldn't access any actual programming schedules for America either so will do the next best thing and keep my fingers crossed for you :)

Edit: Sirius has found something that looks VERY promising for you!! :)

The article Sirius listed has links to Fandango to buy special Season Premiere Tickets to my local theater in Dublin!!! The Season Premiere is being shown at 7PM - PDT at the Dublin IMAX; however, for the ticket price of $12.50, tells me it won't be on the IMAX screen; it will be on a regular movie screen. Still, a chance to see the Premiere in the theater is AWESOME!!! :-)

I'm going to see if I can buy an advance ticket tonight while I'm over there with a friend to see Lucy. Lucy looks like it will be an AWESOME movie. :-)
