I think so, probably even more so, as pet rabbits are a fairly new thing, and haven't had as much time as domesticated cat breeds to have the wild instinct devolved out of them.

Well, they are getting closer.
Got home last night and found my mailbox uprooted and laying in the front lawn.
One of the fellows said yesterday just before I left for work that it was in their line of sight with their surveying sticks...
No mail for me for a few days I guess.
That's OK....not expecting anything much except bills.

Whilst I was gone to work yesterday, they trenched through my driveway. It was filled with gravel when I got home.
Today, they got rained out, with the trench and heavy equipment and mud and muck right in front of my house.
So, my mailbox still lays on the front lawn. And so far my lovely oak tree does not seemed to have suffered too much damage. Hope it remains so when they are all done.
Rumour has it that they will eventually replace the asphalt apron they tore up....we shall see.

Hopefully tomorrow they shall be moving onward.

For what it is worth from a 45 year career in the utilities industry they have to leave it as good as or better than before they came through. If they do not go to your City/County/State Utilities Commission and complain. Sorry but anything less is a scam "period". (^8

On a side note this is why it is so cost prohibitive to underground some utilities. It can cost up to 100 times as to putting it in the air on poles. Sewer is the worst because of size and depth of the lines to get flow from the low lying areas.

They are replacing the original sewer lines that were first run some 45-50 years ago. The town inspector said they were getting too much groundwater infiltration. I think he said they were down some 10 feet. And they were replacing the water mains run at about the same time, as they were repairing break after break on that line.

I'll have faith that all proper remediation will be done properly when all the work is finally done. I've lived here for 34 years, so I do have some say with the town as a longstanding tax payer.

I'd like to have fibre optic to the home available at some time as well. But nothing is being done by the town during their current project.
That would be in ATT's territory, which comes into my home from the BACK yard. My phone and power lines come into the house from the back of my home, underground. Not from the streetside.

I have been promising Squirrel a marker stone for her little grave in the backyard. I think I found a site that offers something appropriate and modest in cost.

I tried to go through it before work today, but got too torn up and did not want to go to work that emotional.

I'll try again over the weekend and maybe I'll get the deed done.
I'll have to order one for Tigger as well, as I did decide that when I marked Squirrel's grave I was going to bury Tigger's ashes next to her so they could be together again. They were sisters, as you may or may not remember, and I lost Tigger at a young age to kidney failure. Sadly, she did not have Squirrel's exceptionally long life.

But, at the time, I was so distraught, I did not know what to do, so I had her cremated. I have since decided that all of my kitties, at the time, shall be returned to the earth from which we all come.

It shall be a very emotional thing for me, certainly. But it is what I must do for them and their memories.

Well, this is just the trunk of mains running down my street. I dunno what is going on with the rest of the system, but it is no doubt not as old, run down, and chaotic as yours.

I just wish all the activity was over soon. The kitties get alarmed when a dump trunk thunks it's bucket or the backhoe thrashed it's bucket on the ground to dislodge some wet clay stuck in it.

I get awoken to the sound of the backup alarms....they are very shrill.

The price of progress. Or perhaps just maintenance.

I know about ever frame of this movie.

I changed some tyres on the cars to handle what needed to be done.
We changed some motors.
More was to be had from some than was others.
The mopar was stock shit.
The Charger had to be worked up. Work was impending when the frames were shot.
The cars were stock to full up. Depenced on the scene.

They guys are just now trenching across my front yard/.
I had a chance to accost the town guy.
He assured me no further damage should be done to me yard light or my beloved oak tree...
As the damage ensues.

I think the fact that I was crying at the time might have had some impact.

He was not sure what a crying 57yo might have wanted at the time, and might have been not far off from calling the cops for protection...not really LOL.
