Message 1532694 - Posted: 27 Jun 2014, 8:30:37 UTC

I have had a few friendship requests over the past few weeks that I have chosen to decline.

The reason is this....
Or these.

First.
I have never searched out friends. They have always come to me.

Second.
Given the first fact, when I get such a request, I look at the user to see if or why I should honor the friendship request.
When a new user of a few days sends me one, I have to wonder why?

Third.
And lastly.
If you want to be a kitty friend, just love kitties. Send proof of ownership or support of shelters, and you shall be my friend post haste.

I am not dissing those wishing to be my friend, but I don't make friends easily, and I wish there to be a valid reason for doing so.

I have never, as some have, collected friends like badges.\
Hope you all understand and shall reapply as warranted.
I like friends, I live for friends.
I just do not collect them like badges that some here have done so.

Meow...

Internet friendships have nothing to do with friendships in RL.
I accept all FR and I send a lot of FR.
This allows to get acquainted with lots of volunteers around the World and show that our community is interconnected.
At least, that is my view, Mark :)

I DO accept most friendship requests...
I just like to know a little about who is requesting and who they are before accepting, that is all.

I fail to see the purpose of friend requests here, besides publicly saying "I enjoy this person."

How many were friends with "Alie from Vancouver"? Enough said.

What remains of that saga is a broken heart.
I was in love with the lady of the north as much as anybody else could be.

I am still trying to piece together what exactly that was all about. Anyone care to PM me the story? (or just post here, but I guess its derailing the thread a bit)

This is old news, Seti needs to move on.

Seti has moved on just fine, Chris.
But that does not remove a rather unique bit of Seti history from memory.

I will say that I read A LOT of that post and am very disappointed that it happened, and that someone had the capacity to do that. But it seems everyone has moved on which is a good thing, although I will agree with Mark moving and and forgetting is very different. Lastly, sorry to those of you who were indeed hurt by the actions of a devious internet actor.

No it dosen't. But I dont dwell on it either. I have more important things to worry about than someones twisted internet fantasy gone awry.
I came into the boards just as the bans started for the Moderation abuses that went on. Now you dont hear anything about what when on back then.
They call it the past for a reason. You learn, You correct and then move on. I cant see beating each other over the head about it.
