Happy Thor's day and I feel Thor must be pleased with the fact that no links to The Discovery Institute have been posted in over 6 weeks, that is a record for this past year IIRC.

Sign for the village of Thursley in Surrey, England

In Sweden in the 19th century, smooth, wedge-shaped stones found in the earth were called Thorwiggar ("Thor's wedges"), according to a folk belief that they were once hurled at a troll by the god Thor.

A story about Thor written more than a thousand years ago.
Such as a sign to his descent, several calls Thor 'Odin's son "and the battle just mentioned, he has the name 'Trolls enemy'.
Thorwiggar is called, as is widely known, smooth, 'wigglifa' stones, which at times are in the earth, and what Thor thought to have been hurled by some trolls. In several localities, where meadows adjoin high mountains, so they formerly heard stories about trolls 'förstädelse' when the thunder went and how they then in multitudinous 'stepelser' often as large globes or balls, come rolling down from the mountain.

'Stände' protection among the raftpeople, which, well knew the danger, always held them back with scythes, which often must have known that lightning struck and shattered scythes, and soon troll with pitiful whimpering gone back to the mountain.
Now I know every sensible Danneman (Danish Viking) that it is entirely natural causes, thunder clouds often gather around the high mountains, and rarely finds now more to such an ignorant peasant that he as formerly in knowledgeable sake dark time, to think this made for trolls sake.

Many ingenious tales of Thor's wanderings and exploits in the land of the giants are kept from paganism, and memories of many among them are attached at both space and the Earth.
So for instance the battle with Giant King in Tronhem, which Tor killed, but for whose beautiful daughter's sake, he wanted to heaven itself attach an eternal remembrance of her father, so he drew his eyes up there. These were now two bright stars, which lights next to each other in Scandinavia winter evenings, and then the people called it 'Thja? Seen' eyes.

Hail Thor.

Almost forgot
It's Thursday again.
Feels odd when you go to sleep on a Thursday and wake up on a Thursday.
But that means I can celebrate Thor twice as much:)
