Cannot connect to local host

Data remains on WD hard drive D:. This required a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium, which required a reinstall of BOINC. I downloaded and installed BOINC version 7.2.42 (x64) and wxWidgets 2.8.10 on June 2nd. BOINC starts up at boot time but shortly thereafter messages that it has three times attempted to connect to localhost. If I boot in SAFE mode with networking it runs fine. I've allowed 6 BOINC items to pass through the Windows firewall, I've disabled 'Start Items' in Admin Tools, I've turned off Malwarebytes, Supermalware and System Mechanic and left only Bitdefender Free. Still no connection. What to do next? ASUS motherboard, AMD Phenom 965 CPU, 16 Gb RAM, Windows 7 64 bit up to date. Thank you, Pete Reque ID: 1529196 ·

Craig Mathieson Send message Joined: 21 Aug 08 Posts: 1 Credit: 739,677 RAC: 0	Message 1530196 - Posted: 20 Jun 2014, 10:38:25 UTC I'm having the same problem on BOINC 7.2.42(x64) I've added BOINC.exe and BOINCMGR to the firewall exceptions list, but in order to get BOINC to work I have to run the installation program to repair every time I re-boot my computer. I'm running Vista Home Premium X64. If anyone can help I'd be very grateful. ID: 1530196 ·
