i read his comments as a sarcastic response to the weather getting colder What do you mean 'may'? Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

Denial or fact? Unfortunately yet more of the deliberately contrarian headline grabbing befuddlement. Note the profusion of opinion and complete lack of useful fact... Note how the Daily Mail looks to be more for exposing beach babes and tits and celeb gossip than real news and is not normally used by any scientists... Note the profusion of opinion and complete lack of useful fact... Yes, Martin. It is not just the Daily Mail, but ALL the traditional news sources worldwide are showing signs of it. Newspapers, Radio, Television, News Magazines, etc. The standard used to be 'All the News...' Then it was 'If it bleeds, it leads...' Now it is, sadly, 'Sex sells...' Its all now nothing but titilation and pushing an agenda. I miss you, Walter Cronkite... And that's the way it was.... |

Note the profusion of opinion and complete lack of useful fact... We allowed public corporations to own news media. Corporations have only one duty, make money. Why are we at all surprised in the state of journalism today? |

From the... erm... article: Climate change has been proven to be a lie, according to a leading meteorologist... ...who... *prick my bubble* ... has a degree in journalism - obtained in 1957. Can't find anything before or since but let's not get too bogged down about how "expert" our expert is peoples :) He has after all... ...studied this topic seriously for years. It's true! :) Ten IS years... ever since NBC was having a "Green is universal" environmental week and they cut the studio lights pre-game and half-time during a football match he was watching... *long blink* Y-e-e-e-s... I'm planning to get grumpy about stuff too when I'm seventy... probably that they didn't go off air for the whole game :) Mr Coleman based his research on the findings of the NIPCC Oh good grief *scratch head wildly* ... back to these guys are we... *wade inelegantly through dung to thread door* seriously anniet... you have to stop following links to anything daily mail Edit: Forgot to say hello :/ Hello! :) Everything what you've all said... I think :) |

"I say, what do you think of climate change?" "Well I don't know, I am not sure it is true" "Heretic, Heretic, denier of the godly truth given to us by Oh Vested Interest One and the Great Hippy hoards..burn this heathen at the stake brethren" That is about how the climate nonsense goes...The advocates have so convinced themselves that what they say is true that it has turned into a ruddy religion and demolished all credibility. Does climate change exist, well of course it does, it's been doing this for 5,000 million years and will continue to do it long after the human species has popped it's collective clogs. The real question is "What impact does man have on the climate"...Honestly, I am far from convinced we are having the impact claimed, does this mean we should continue on blindly, of course not. We do not use our house as a massive toilet, and we should not use the environment in this way either and this includes the atmosphere. However the climate lobby have serious problems...we often hear about the hottest, wettest, coldest, driest bla bla ad nauseum week/month/year since records began..what a crock of horse poo that is, they conveniently only use records since around 1970 using the excuse .."recording devices were not as accurate before then" Sorry, that is nonsense. Look at the confirmed weather data for Europe, or for China, and some parts of India, where records have been routinely collected, along with other allegorical data for anything between 600 years (Europe) and 2500 years (China). The climate swings from one extreme to the other, on a reasonably regular cycle. This cycle is impacted by volcanic activity and other natural influences and thus we get unusual cold/hot spells in the middle of a period of extreme cold or hot. Lets look at the solutions on offer to stop using fossil fuels... Wind, Solar and Nuclear are the only ones developed sufficiently to really impact the debate for a solution, yet all have inherent problems that impact in other ways. Wind: Heavy energy costs in the production of the equipment and the installation. Completed in sufficient numbers to make a significant impact on electrical energy usage on a regional and global scale will have unknown impact on the climate due to the removal of energy from the atmosphere. Yes folks, the energy you take is NOT FREE because nothing in nature is. The best wind turbines are perhaps 40% efficient, so for every Mw generated, you will remove some 1.2Mw from the atmosphere. Now on a small scale that is not that much, but if the UK generated 50% of it's power from Wind (As is the goal of Greenpeace by 2030), the UK needs to remove the equivalent of a category 2 Hurricane from the atmosphere every day. You may think this is a small price to pay...but has anyone done the maths on this, on how it impacts the local and wider environment? Solar: Never pays for itself. The energy used to produce the average solar cell is some 10 times what it will produce in it's lifetime. The costs are high and the whole sales blurb for these is seriously flawed due to the grants and subsidies paid out by Governments..It's a great way of generating small power locally, but will never really impact on a large scale, to do so would again have massive impacts on the climate by the mass use of this technology and no-one has done any studies into this because it would be an Inconvenient Truth. Nuclear: Sadly human arrogance and ignorance has caused some disasters as a result of the misuse of this technology. The Green brigade hate it because it's..well nuclear..and they lake the functioning brain cells to understand it. Used correctly, with the right safety procedure then this is the ONLY way forward for the generation of the levels of electrical energy modern world requires to function. There are technical challenges, there are astronomical costs and there are political issues that hold this technology back. However if you want a world without fossil fuels, then this is the ONLY viable solution. As for ACC...give me a break.. |

we don't use data just from 1970's down under we are smarter than some . THIS SEPTEMBER WAS THE HOTTEST SEPTEMBER SINCE WE STARTED KEEPING RECORDS EVER but some would have you all think climate change has stalled !..... Please EXPLAIN record September being the hottest ever if not for man and his machines . |

Please EXPLAIN record September being the hottest ever if not for man and his machines . Weather. Now if that was 25 Septembers in a row ..... You understand that climate change is just a moving average. So to get any result you wish cherry pick a starting date and the length of the average. Then if you get to massage the data going in, for some local variation like a parking lot being paved, you have total control over the result. |

Please EXPLAIN record September being the hottest ever if not for man and his machines . Couple Decades ago, I was working On Top of One Of The Tallest Boilers in The Biggest Coal Plant in The US, and I was Barely Bothered by The Heat - Yes, it was Online and Screaming A Superheated Steam Leak. And when I Stepped Away to take a break, I went across to the catwalk leading to The Outside and Took a Nice breath of Cool, Just Right O2 and CO2. Can't Remember if 'it' was September. Point? None. Like The Climate Scientists making Points. None. Blather. Agenda. Crappola. Oh Yeah. ' ' May we All have a METAMORPHOSIS. REASON. GOoD JUDGEMENT and LOVE and ORDER!!!!! |

I keep hearing that Glenn, but it certainly wasn't very hot here that month with easterlies blowing in off the sea instead of westerlies from the blast furnace and snow just down the road, not to mention the rain. ;-) Cheers. |

No doubt the Denialists and the Fossils FUDdites will excuse themselves of this: (So yet again, and so how many times does this need repeated to be heeded?) Science chief warns on acid oceans The UK's chief scientist says the oceans face a serious and growing risk from man-made carbon emissions. The oceans absorb about a third of the CO2 that’s being produced by industrial society, and this is changing the chemistry of seawater. Sir Mark Walport warns that the acidity of the oceans has increased by about 25% since the industrial revolution, mainly thanks to manmade emissions. CO2 reacts with the sea water to form carbonic acid. He said the current rate of acidification is believed to be unprecedented within the last 65 million years – and may threaten fisheries in future. ... the effects of acidification may be even more pervasive than previously estimated. Until now studies have identified species with calcium-based shells as most in danger from changing chemistry. But researchers in Exeter have found that other creatures will also be affected because as acidity increases it creates conditions for animals to take up more coastal pollutants like copper... So that's a quadruple whammy for some ocean life getting killed off by the increasing ocean acidification, increased temperature, and also the increased acidification enhancing the adverse effects of other man-made pollutants to poison what were naturally long lived creatures. And the result is then toxic algae taking over... Time we killed off the fossil fuels pollution sooner rather than too late...
