Fossil fuel use includes millions of tons of plastics, fertilizer, etc. does that produce CO2? (honest question, I don't know)

The 2010 link is probably still valid, geological time scales are not the same as human ones. If the magma chamber is still building it would account for ground level rise, although there is a possibility superheated ground water could also be causing some of the elevation? I haven't even tried to check but is there gas venting going on there (water vapor, CO, CO2, etc) If heat transfer is taking place it could well be lowering pressure in magma chamber even though volume is increasing. A flow is much less destructive than an explosion, it's all depending on pressure and containment in my opinion
