here's a better idea Clyde. How about you's go fight your self's as you started it And we sit down here in the south and do nothing and watch you all destroy yourself's . After all we don't need anything from any country as we have all the resources we need . After all nobody has attacked us and the only attack against us was after we joined you lot .

But Saddam would have died at some point, his regime would have collapsed and this mess would have come up then.

Uday would have taken over ....

Perhaps, but make no mistake. Under Saddam 20% of the Iraqi population ran the country and repressed the other 80%. That situation is not stable nor will it last forever. At some point, Saddam or his son would have faced with uprisings and they would have been cast down. Maybe during the Arab spring, maybe after instability in Syria had spread to Iraq. This was inevitable.

A mess would have come up.

Possibly not THIS mess.
And whatever mess that came about wouldn't have been of US making.

Iraq’s Embattled Prime Minister Agrees to Step Down

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said on Thursday evening that he would support the man nominated to replace him and step down, according to a report that cited state television, marking an apparent end to weeks of political uncertainty that threatened to consume the country as it battles extremists in the north.

ISIS massacres 90 Yazidis in northern Iraq town, say Iraqi officials

Islamic militants killed 90 members of Iraq's Yazidi minority in a northern village, sources told Fox News on Friday.

The Kurdish-speaking ethnic and religious group, which numbers in the hundreds of thousands in Iraq, has been persecuted in the north by Islamic State militants, with at least 500 killed prior to Friday's news, according to Iraq's human rights minister.

Now what?

Go in & play by their rules, soon have the area quietened down.

I've already mentioned the danger within & further proof of that is stated...

"Acknowledging that the militant appeared to be British, he said the involvement of a significant number of UK nationals in Syria in Iraq was "one of the reasons why this organisation represents such a direct threat to the UK's national security"."

Yeah because countering barbarism with more barbarism has shown to be such an effective way of stopping them....not.

Really?

So you're saying we mustn't fight or talk...

Hmmm, just let them continue to kill while we sit & let them?

Oh wait a minute...

...let me think on this...

Ah got it! We use proportionate responses!

I never said we shouldnt use violence either. I said we shouldnt respond to barbarism with more barbarism.

Targeted airstrikes supporting local resistance groups combined with providing a solid, believable alternative to what ISIS promises, both in the region as well as here in Europe and we can possible deescalate the conflict there and rob ISIS of a base, support and purpose.

That's like a comedian on TV cracking jokes non-stop. Most will find it funny, some will find them not so funny, but there will always be one that finds it offensive & complains...

...result more & more PC!

In this case, instead of jokes...

Chuck Hagel: ISIS "beyond anything we've seen"

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel on Thursday defended the failed U.S. attempt to rescue James Foley, but warned that the Islamic extremists who executed the American journalist are "beyond just a terrorist group" and "beyond anything that we've seen."

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/chuck-hagel-defends-failed-james-foley-rescue-attempt/

I for one believe what Hagel said.
