Pedophile Denise Harvey, 47, was convicted on 5 counts of child rape and sentenced to only 30 years. She jumped bail and is now happily living among the draft-dodgers and their ilk.

Not as bad as this nasty story about the American child rapist who fled Canada to America despite Canada trying to warn the Americans that he might do this.

Sex offender Michael Stanley won't face new charges in U.S.
Perhaps America needs to keep a better eye on its paedophiles?

Ted Cruz sent a letter.
"This is to certify that the person named above has formally renounced Canadian citizenshp and pursuant to the Citizenship Act will cease to be a citizen on" May 14, 2014,"

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

First time I hear about a female pedophile... I couldn't understand why men did it in the first place but this is really deranged. En plus, she's a mother! How sick can you be, really...

[edit] Otoh, at 16, you should know what you're doing and be able to defend yourself... How could she have raped him anyway? A woman can't penetrate anyone without consent, she just doesn't have the 'tool'...

Rape is sex without the consent of one of the people. If the guy doesn't want to have sex and is therefor not consenting to it, he is getting raped.

Furthermore, if the person you have sex with is below the age of consent, its automatically considered rape by the law (statutory rape).

Its a stupid myth that men can't be raped by women because women are supposedly weak and all guys want sex with women at all times so they automatically consent.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought a man has to have an erection to be able to have sex? How does one get an erection without wanting sex?? I think with women, we should call it sexual harrasment rather than rape.

[edit] A man can be erect due to nerves, drugs, or other means and a perpetrator can take advantage of that of course...
The problem is most men are physically stronger. If women were larger and stronger, they could overtake and rape men...

Men can be raped by women. An erection is something they don't always have control over. I've heard stories about men waking up and finding a woman having sex with them and it being very disturbing for them. I can imagine it would be.

As to the story about the female "paedophile", it does seem to be a grey area. In the UK and in other countries the age of consent is 16. She may have taken advantage of her position as his friends mother, but if the boy is adamant that he wasn't coerced or upset by what happened then a 30 year sentence seems a little extreme, especially when you read stories about a billionairre stepfather who molested his stepdaughter and got away with a four month sentence and a fine Billionaire Gets Four Months for Sexual Assault of a 12-Year-Old Girl

I understand why Canada cannot extradite the woman for something that is not illegal in Canada. Can you imagine the outcry if Americas were extradited for crimes they committed in out countries (e.g. blasphemy) that were not illegal in America? I don't think that would wash somehow.

It is sexual assault not sexual harassment. Big difference.

Laws regarding rape

Rape is a type of sexual assault initiated by one or more persons against another person without that person's consent. The act may be carried out by physical force, or where the person is under threat or manipulation, or with a person who is incapable of valid consent.[1][2][3][4] It is the name of a statutory crime in jurisdictions such as England and Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland, California, and New York, and is a legal term of art used in the definition of the offence of sexual violation in New Zealand.

Definitions of rape vary, and though rape is usually dependent upon whether or not consent was present during the act,[1][2][3][4] the term "consent" varies as well. Minors, for example, are often considered too young to consent to sexual relations with older persons (see statutory rape and age of consent).[4] Consent is also considered invalid if obtained under duress, or from a person who does not have the ability to understand the nature of the act, due to factors such as young age, mental disability, or substance intoxication.[4]

Many jurisdictions, such as Canada, and several US and Australian states, have abandoned the term 'rape' in favor of other terms such as 'sexual assault', 'sexual intercourse without consent', 'criminal sexual conduct' etc.[5][6]

Yes. Especially if society expects them to be happy about it.

Thanx for the correction J. I was just trying to make a point that men are stronger and taller than women and therefore can be more aggressive so we can use the term 'rape' more. Men are just 'harrassed' by woman when it comes to sexual assault imo.

[edit] But I won't make my own laws here...:)

I don't think its very common for a man to be raped by a woman, but it does happen and the feelings of shame are the same. It would be made worse if it wasn't even recognised for what it was.

Men, however, are more likely to be raped by other men, and there are still problems with it being reported because they are so ashamed of what happened to them.

True and only a few of them would even admit they were raped by a woman, probably afraid nobody would believe them...

Well there are of course people who are asexual and would therefor not really enjoy sex under any circumstance.

And why would guys enjoy sex with someone if they are not attracted to that person? It might perhaps also depend on the type of sex and whether or not it perhaps involved the use of certain objects. I can imagine that quite a few people would be unpleasantly surprised if their partner suddenly pulled out a giant dildo and stuck that in some place they were not comfortable with.

We have a saying here in Belgium that a man runs after his ***. It doesn't matter for most man if the woman is attractive or not, as long as they can get rid of, well, their sperm. I know not all men are like that but most of them are.

Rape and sexual assault are not always one on one. Two or more women and or just one women with a gun and or an adult woman over a smaller boy/teenager easily shifts the balance.

Some quick examples:

Women Accused Of Gang-Raping Man In Zimbabwe
http://www.care2.com/causes/women-accused-of-gang-raping-man-in-zimbabwe.html

Man 'gang-raped' by 3 women
http://www.femdomale.com/men-gang-rape.html

Trying to get back on topic. (^;
It is illegal in Florida for anyone over the age of 24 to have sex with someone 16 or younger, but in Canada the age of consent is 16, or 18 if the accused is in a position of authority.

Is this insane or what? 17 to 23 it is not rape but anyone 24 or older it is. That is an old fashion out of date "Blue Law". LOL!!

One, as you said 'most' men. Most does not include everyone who by nature isn't attracted to women, such as homosexuals or pre-op lesbian transwomen. They would probably not enjoy sex with women if it wasn't consensual.

Second, as you say, those people that think with their **** might appear to be attracted to all women. However, it also assumes a scenario where the guy is acting proactively. They have the initiative so one would assume they like it, given that they initiate it. But what about a scenario where they lose the initiative and someone forces themselves on them. Despite how a lot guys brag about their love of sex, I can assure you most would feel incredibly uncomfortable the moment there are women who force themselves onto them.

Of course, that's why I said 'most' men:)

It certainly hurts a guys Ego if something like the latter happens, I agree.
