Message 1526119 - Posted: 9 Jun 2014, 20:09:46 UTC

Quick question. I've seen these before but just download about 28 of them onto my computers,4 right away errored. Looking at the work units hx, seems like alot of them are resends with the other wingmans results saying complete and validated and 0.00 credits given. I had to reread what they were. Anyone else having problems running them?

I have had a few fail to download on me today. I was quite surprised to see them at all.

I noticed now too, some fail to DL but the ones who do run smoothly.

Guess staff is cleaning house, love to see a MB or 20 on my machine again :D

Has it something to do with the error messages I'm been getting the last hours?

09/06/2014 22:18:55 SETI@home Message from server: Your app_info.xml file doesn't have a usable version of SETI@home Enhanced.

I've deleted the Enhanced app section long age, but now the error appears on all 3 PCs.

That's a very good question, Seti@Home Enhanced is basically deprecated, we're moved onto Seti v7 now, there should be no Seti@Home Enhanced work.

The question is why is the scheduler issuing Seti@Home Enhanced work? that then fails because the Wu files no longer exist.

I think there is clean-up work going on. I'm noticing some funny things happening with my old tasks reported in 2012 and 2013 that are still in the system.

Good to know I'm not the only one with DL errors. 4 more just tried to download and errored out. This will be interesting to see how they run. Thanks for the info.

I was surprised when I found one, a GPU task, on my tasks tab. I came the website and found 2 GPU and 1 CPU task with download errors. Flipped over to this forum and found this thread, so I'm not the only one.

What's really weird (at least on my end) is the MB's sent out are mostly ones who are validated already but were granted 0 credit.

Definitely some database cleaning up going on. I have just acquired an invalid AP. I returned the task in January and it has just been marked as 'invalid returned too late to validate). I returned it before the deadline but after two other users had already returned it. No enhanced issues for me yet though. On balance I am glad to see the databases being cleaned up, maybe it will be the start of the long promised process that will result in limits not being needed.

I've notice also that many of these either errored or finished and validated but have 0.00 credit being given to the previous crunchers. Although, the one that just finished looks like I'm the first to actually finish the work unit without erroring. Now I need to wait for validation from someone else.

All my Astropulse v6 tasks are now showing as fully validated across all my wingmen too,

Brilliant, thanks whoever has initiated this.

That's the one. I confirm my 12 remaining MB enhanced tasks - reported in May 2013 - have all been reset to 0 credit.

Finally the old Enhanced database is being cleaned up.

I had 5 download errors overnight with them though 2 did get through on 1 rig.

Cheers.

Does anyone know why some stuck APs are granted credit and others are validated but given 0 credit?

The script that validates already ran. Because the _0 or _1 returned their result late, but before you. So the original pair validate & your 3rd result sits pending never to be validated because the flag for "has been validated" (or whatever it is) is already set. However with one of the results being in a pending state the clean up script does not touch the task. So a manual script has to be run to clear these stuck tasks out of the db. A forced validate check was probably run, but not the credit granting portion. It may be run later however. Unknown.

Well looking at my previously stuck APs I don't see the pattern that you describe. Oh well the data base is going to be a bit better.
