I hate, detest, despise, AND loathe coffee.

I saw some Lays cappuccino flavored potato chips at Walgreens the other day. That seemed pretty odd to me.

I don't like Potato Chips, they stick to My teeth.

That's why I avoid them and I'll sometimes eat corn chips.

Lori and I found a salty snack we had not known about before the other day.
Salted, dried peas.
They are pretty good, actually.
The salt gives you the same thing you crave with potato chips, but with much less fat.

Sounds like something to break a tooth on. Where did you get them?

They are not that hard at all. Which was a factor, since Lori has a shy tooth or so.
We got them at our local Farm and garden kinda place......
They have gained a reputation for having almost all kinds of nuts.
The peas were amongst the trail mix and dried bananas and all sorts of other goodies.

Oh, wasabi peas; yeah, I've heard of those It says they're a good source of iron ~ Never would have thought that.

Popcorn is a favorite of mine, but it can be dangerous on your teeth, too. I don't do the microwave stuff, either; I actually buy some from a local farm and pop it the old-fashioned way, in olive oil.

Most dried fruit stuff doesn't appeal to me, but I do like raisins and craisins.

They have very good chocolate covered raisins. And dried bananas to die for. Lori's favorite is the salted pecans.

Raisins make sense, but dried banana chips are weird to me. I don't understand how they do that.

Pecans, cashews, Brazil nuts - my favorites, and all expensive. When I was a kid, I used to get nuts in the shell at Christmas, and liked walnuts, too. Those darn Brazil nuts, though... they are truly hard nuts to crack and keep the innard intact.

Cashews have some interesting background in how they're cultivated. I read something about them as to why we don't buy them in the shell. I think they have to be boiled before eaten.

A nice snack that my wife and I like as a treat (the fat can be a bit high) is:-

Take Jacobs Cream Crackers (I don't know the equivalent outside the UK), place them on a microwaveable plate,
Sprinkle them with grated cheese (your favorite)
Then cook in the microwave on full power for about 20-30 seconds until the cheese has mostly melted the crackers should stay firm
Then optionally add Tomato ketchup, or pickle etc. to taste

Eat & enjoy
Happy Crunching,

Graham

I like cashews, but I've heard they're fattening.

Most nuts are very "energy dense", so unless you balance them with exercise they are fattening. In part my expanding waist line was down to too many nuts and not enough miles :-(

I'd love some! I've been on a cake kick lately. Had German chocolate for my birthday, and can't leave the deli without caramel frosted spice cake.

Sounds great, but so expensive! I'll just buy the booze and
the cake and put them together myself!
