The wife and I got tired of just hot dogs Burgers and steak, So I have been griiling different things on the BBQ. Weve had shis ka bob, chicken breasts, pork chops,And Sunday Im going to try doing a pizza on the grill. You know thats not a bad idea. My wife loves shrimp cocktails. And when I go to a Japanese steak house, I love fried shrimp. But how do you BBQ them?
Old James |

I've never had one, they be rich people food, but I suppose you just throw em on and wait for them to cook. |

You know that's not a bad idea. My wife loves shrimp cocktails. And when I go to a Japanese steak house, I love fried shrimp. Dead easy. Shell them and then fry on a hot plate (not the grill) with butter and plenty of garlic. Definitely the way to go ;) T.A. |

An old post but... Might want to reconsider the Tilapia, if you Google Tilapia on the first page you get titles like "Tilapia is worse than bacon". If you read those items it's pretty well a rant by one of those self proclaimed "Healthy Food Gurus". The articles mostly refer to what is bad about farmed fish rather than a problem with Tilapia itself. Bacon is declared bad for almost Kosher or Halal reasons rather than anything to do with fat content or whatever. In other words, just another one of those sites set up to fleece the gullible. T.A. |

I thought nitrites/nitrates were the evil things in cured bacon/hot dogs. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Well I did 3 8 pizza's on the grill. Basically you put the toppings you want on the shell and wait untill the cheese melts. Nice and easy and you dont have to turn an oven on when itys hot as heck out. The wife and I both said they were very good so we will do it again. That was our 18th anniversary dinner. Grilled pizza:)
Old James |

I've never thought about using a grill for that, but it makes total sense. Probably gets the crust nice and crispy, too, which is how I like it. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Of the last 2 pizzas I had, 1 had a soggy crust in the center cause I followed the directions, the other I put a cookie sheet under and the crust was much better. Well for grilled pizza you but the allready cooked ones. basically you just use the grill to melt the cheese and firm up the crust on how you like it.
Old James |

Here are a couple of cookbooks that you can download for free in PDF format: Go here: http://www.leannebrown.ca/cookbooks/ The cookbooks are "Good and Cheap" and "From Scratch" by Leann Brown I've just downloaded them myself, so I don't have an opinion about them yet. ~Sue~ |
