Oops sorry I'm late weighing in . Had to get a hamburger for breakfast after being up all night and then got totally involved with Electronic Fuel Injection tuning with a Power Vision device.

Anyway last week 91.1 kg

This week 90.8 kg

So YAY lost 300 grams. I'm getting back on track, back to exactly my lowest weight 2 weeks ago.

I must pick up my scales from work and see what the damage of last week's living it up in a hotel has been.....

The weigh in sounds good!

My only question is, what is a Power Vision device?

It is, I got it when i put different mufflers on the bike and had to load a new map into the ECM. I told them what parts I had and t cam preinstalled with a custom map for my bike. 5 minutes later and it was purring like kitten and pulling like a horse.I never got around to learning how to use the auto tune because it went so well. But when It got real hot last summer I mounted it on the bars and just use cylinder head temp guage function. It also has tacho ang gear position indicator but my super speedo already has them.

I hope you didn't do too much. I know how easy it is to go backwards. Instead of worrying about stuff I should spend more energy on playing with my toys.

Pudgy Little Raccoon Weigh-In
167.6 lbs

Too depressed to even click on the metric converter.

I am blaming this weigh-in on salt. There is no possible way that I gained two real pounds in seven lousy days. We had a dinner party on Saturday and I cooked a variety of delicious but high salt foods for the party. Then we ate the left-overs for lunch on Sunday. Then Eric cooked a salty dinner for the two of us on Sunday night.

Salt. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

That's a shame Angela. I guess we will have to wait till next week to see. It's good to see you are keeping "blaming Eric" in reserve.
I came across a magazine called diabetic living today. It is choch full of great looking recipes and weekly food planner with recipes for single people. Also 44 slimming meals and snacks, No guilt sweet treats. General healthy lifestyle stuff and diabetes stuff. Perhaps there are similar mags where you are. This would open a whole new world af challenging cooking experiences for you. :-) stand by...

Sorry I rotated them in PB but cant get them to post right.

I bought fruit today (dont tell anyone)the pears were hard as rocks so I cut one up and cooked it in my sweet potato and onion soup. It turned out quite acceptable too for an experimental recipe.

I'll still lose weight, so I don't need to follow a diabetic diet and I can still eat ice cream too, when I can afford to that is.

I have one issue of a diabetic cooking magazine that I bought when my mother was initially diagnosed. There is a roasted pear, onion and butternut squash soup recipe in the issue I have that is outstanding. My mother requests that I make that soup for her a couple of times each fall... and she doesn't even know the soup is actually good for her!!!

Mmmmmmmmm ice cream!!! What's not to love???!!!

Vic, at your current weight, age, height and activity level you are taking in approximately 3600 calories a day to maintain your weight. At my current weight, age, height and activity level I am taking in about 1830 calories a day to maintain my weight. Monday is probably somewhere between the two of us.

Different people, different challenges...

And with all the disco dancing I've been doing on TLPTPW thread, it is amazing to me that I haven't dropped a dress size!

I'm very impressed with this mag. These people seem to know a lot about losing weight and nutrition. The Balsamic lamb with sweet potato mash and beans has me totally craving a feed like that. lol.I had cravings for roast lamb and Haggis yesterday morning but had to settle for a hamburger.Diabetes Australia/ Victoria sent me a membership offer pack and one of the benefits is 40% off a years subscription so I got one from the shop to see if it worth getting, I will definitely be getting it.

I understand the brain's release of good feeling chemicals reinforcing our sugar intake, but why do some of us crave salty/savory stuff so much? I remember as a kid I used to eat table salt by itself. :~0>

One possible reason is your kidneys are passing more salt than they should. When I was a teen working all day in the arizona sun, I lost so much salt through sweat that at dinner time, the salt was the best tasting thing on the table. If you still have the craving, you might want to mention it to your doctor. There are medications to control the condition. My grandmothers blood pressure was so low, they told her to eat more salt and take a medication that caused her to retain the salt.

Interesting thought, thanks. I know my mom has always had a can of iodizxed salt in the cupboard. I can't remember why iodine is so important to us, but it's funny it's added to salt.

Iodine is for goiter. We get much more sea food in our diet today so goiter isn't the problem it once was but they still put iodine in salt just in case.
