I weigh Myself as if I was at the Doctors office, since their scale only goes to 300lbs, I asked once for a bigger scale, but no dice.

I'm 54 and fatter still, unless you weigh more that is. Though I'm working on the fat and no more exercise than I would normally do, which is a short 30' walk to the bathroom and 30' back.

Well that's the thing, no one in My family has diabetes, not even in My late brothers family(or even in My ancestry, My great grandpa lived until He was 94), which is really all the family I have outside of 3 aging older cousins.

Then I'm doing ok, since I don't take in a lot of calories, My bread is 50 a slice instead of 200+ a slice($0.99 a loaf), peanut butter is 180 instead of 200+ and the turkey bologna is 70 a slice and I normally have BF lite mayo at 15 a serving, but I'm almost out of that for the moment, so I do without, My nephew won't go without mayo on a sandwich.

Just be aware that if you are eating white bread the starch is broken down into sugar during digestion. In fact digestion starts in the mouth as saliva contains the enzyme amylase which begins to break down your food as you chew. That is why white bread can taste sweet. If possible eat whole wheat or whole grain bread.

There isn't much difference in flours as far as carbs are concerned but whole wheat is a better choice because the fiber would help slow down absorption into the system as well as the other advantages of fiber and the natural existing vitamins and minerals. After you get used to it, whole wheat flour can even have more flavor than white bread. My favorite grain supply house has some numbers to compare against.
Organic Ivory Wheat Flour

Whole Wheat Flour

I did experiments with wheat gluten bread to make something that was Atkin diet compatible but found that the all gluten wasn't very bread like. The loafs looked like bread out of the bread machine but were very rubbery when you cut into them or tried to eat it. I needed to add some wheat or soy flour in order to make it a little less tough but it did produce a really low carb bread.

I buy wheat bread, not white bread. And on a limited budget of $877.40 a month in 2014, hopefully I'll get $887.40 a month in 2015 and that's about half of poverty, nice isn't it? Yes, I know what all that does, I got a B in health class in the 7th grade, I had a habit of getting good grades on classes that I was interested in, like A's or B's...
