I'll stick with what I've got, it will still be comfortable, if a little looser
I'll still be the same height (or maybe a little taller as there won't be so much of me squashing my feet....)

Thanks Julie - waist line has decreased a bit (another notch on the belt)

BMI was 30 (borderline obese), now down to about 27.5, still a bit over weight, my target weight is about 85kg. I'm generally not puffing and panting as much as I was a few months back, and can walk at a reasonable pace for several hours (18 miles in less than 4 hours on Saturday).
Interestingly my knee pains have eased off a lot.

Thank you Lynn - appearances can be deceptive, and can be assisted by standing "straight and tall".

Does anyone find dark chocolate helpful as a snack when you're hungry? It works for me.

Not sure if I posted this before--apologies if I did.

If you use mobile apps, try runkeeper and mapmyride. I have the paid versions of both and **LOVE** them. Runkeeper even has a wheelchair running app!

Hi Uli. I've been a bit overwhelmed. Saw the doctor and his diabetes educator early in the week so I was given a blood glucose meter and piles of info pamplets and info sheets. I've had to register at a pharmacy in town with the national diabetes scheme to get supplies of test strips cheaper. Saw another educator at the pharmacy the next day to learn more stuff about blood testing and got a big show bag full of info sheets etc. Been sourcing foods and stuff and trying to plan diets that don't include the essential food groups including junk food Fish and chips, lollies, comfort foods and doughnuts. So basically just two steps away from being totally miserable. :-)

Best of luck with it Monday.

I seen my missus go through this for her last 3 pregnancies and again after her 1st lot of strokes.

Just stick to the diet. ;-)

Cheers.

Thanks Wiggo. Diet is going to be a big change. Cooking for 1 is difficult and I've got quite used to frozen pizzas and take away foods. I'm also not very organized so I tend to forget about stuff and waste fresh foods. It's also more expensive buying small amounts of veges and crap like that.

Thank you for the update Monday.
On the plus side, you already started to make some healthy soups. You don't have to use fresh Califlower, frozen works just fine too. Ditto for a few other vegetables.

Cauliflower is in season over here now and really cheap and tasty. It's one of the few vegetables I really like.

I like broccoflower, which is a cross between broccoli and cauliflower.

Never heard of it. Not too keen on broccoli but tolerate a few bits of it in Chinese take away.
Just had a lovely lunch of a lean pork chop with tomato, onion and red capsicum cooked in butter, pepper, soy sauce and a bit of cornflower to thicken up the juices.
