Went to the doctor yesterday. Was down 4 lbs. from 3 months ago. But I haven't been keeping track, so I may have bounced up and down by 10 during that time.

Dr. is sort of pushing me toward lap band, but I really don't want to do it.

Right now, I am getting a bit hungry. Trying to remind myself not to eat a huge blob of rice or pasta.

David, first off, congratulations on your weight loss!

Surgical intervention is obviously a serious undertaking and I would not presume to advise you one way or another. Whatever you and your doctor decide, I wish you well.

I will say these words because I experienced them for myself. At 275lb, I was sitting around one day and I heard myself utter these thoughts. "Geez, it is a shame that I 'wasted' this period of my life being a good 100lb overweight." And then it hit me. Did I seriously just defeat myself before even trying? While feeling sorry for myself, I just got upset that I had already lost a battle I didn't even begin fighting. It was right then and there that I decided not to be that guy. I decided not to be the guy who felt sorry for himself to the point that I myself was what defeated me. Myself defeated myself. Kind of sounds silly, doesn't it? It was then and there that I decided it was time to change. I am down 40lb so far, and hopefully I can keep it going.

I mean these words very kindly, David. I don't know your situation, and everyone is different and live different lives. But Sir, you must look deep into yourself and decide whether or not you want to be successful. I think we all know what the answer is. :)

A nice little quiz to help (or annoy)...

What kind of emotional eater are you?

My answers were B, D, B, C, B. At least I'm not an Angry eater. I'm just not an angry person.

Hello, my name is Angela and I am a stress eater.

I think I'm angry and wounded and sometimes a bit anxious.

If like me you are struggling with hunger and those nutritious low calorie meals arent filling the hole, or you just have to have a snack, I have found a very tasty guilt free desert. Aeroplane light jelly has only 5 calories per 100 grams or 25 calories for a 500ml bowl (pictured below). Now 25 calories is what is in a 100 gram serve of cauliflower. So if you are super seriously counting the calories ditch one serve of cauliflower and eat a whole bowl of jelly. Its excellent summer food for youall norther hemisphere folk. I dont know if you can get this outside of Oz but I'm sure there is an equivalent product in your respective countries.

I have of course been very good and only ate 1 500ml bowl over 3 nights. Mainly because it's freezing here but it's way better than lollies or doughnuts.

Sorry Monday, I've never seen that brand in the western part of the US, though I have seen Jello, like so...

Just got back from a week of camping (helping and checking up on a group of scouts spread across a large area). Probably walked 10 miles a day...
