Zalster,
I've already had 19 today and it just continued to spit them out every minute or so on the same gpu#. I don't know what to do. So I had to ask those questions earlier.

First thing is to ID the GPU. If you can figure out which one it is, then you could try to remove it. But first, did you check the what the event log says on your system? After that, you might want to check and see if it's not a driver issue. Just some thoughts.

The event log just says uploading and ready to report as though it were a thoroughly good submission. The driver question is confusing to me. I don't know if it's window's, amd, or lunatics. I would assume amd.(Just reinstall from amd and rerun lunatics?)

Sorry for all of these beginner kind of questions. If this is too much, I'll just handle it the best I can figure out by myself and I thank you in any event for your enduring with me through all of this. By trial and error I'm sure I'll come up with a solution.

If I remember correctly, I think there is an error like this from installing new drivers. What happens is, when the new driver for the graphic card is installed, it's supposed to create new binarys to go along with the driver. I think thou, that amd uses the same name so new binaries aren't created. We could try deleting the binaries from the seti@home project folder and let it rebuild with new ones. Look at this posting and see if it looks familiar to what you are describing.

TBar is much better with AMD graphics than I am. I don't have any, but he does. But why only this 1 gpu and not the others? That is what is getting to me. I guess you could try reinstalling the graphic driver, try to do a clean install then reboot. If that doesn't fix it, then maybe try the lunatics.

Yes the fact that it is only one of three gpu's I think is the key. I will open the case and see which one survives a test and I can test the non-performing one over on my #2Pc where I can also test my riser arrangement at the same time.
Thanks

Did you try cold-reboot (shutdown, switch-off electricity, wait a minute, switch-on computer)

What is shown in SIV and other monitoring programs? (you never posted any pictures)

Try to just change/swap the slots of the 2 identical cards (card that is now device #0 put in PCIe slot where the working card is)

Do the problem follow the card?
Or the problem stay on the same slot? (i.e. again device #0 show problem but this time it is in fact the other card)

It may be just some dirty pin in the PCIe slot that do not make good contact.

I pulled out the correct offending card based on my assumption of the SIV numbering compared to it's position on motherboard. So now my system is running properly.

Re. image: I took a snip .PNG of my SIV window but I don't know how to get it into these messages. I can't simply drag it here.

I am going to test this card on my 2ndPC because I am also curious about the riser setup.

Thanks BillBg

My card I pulled from pc1 and put to pc2 with a riser was installed and is working on a unit from collatz which is just integer and seems to be working fine. I don't know if this means it will work OK with Seti or not. I suppose the card is ok and perhaps the connection on the mobo is faulty or like BillBg said a dirty connector. On Wednesday I'll try to get a seti gpu unit downloaded and try it out. I hope the mobo on pc1 is ok because I already have ordered an amd radeon hd r7 265 to replace the original 6570.

--edit
I downloaded some v7 gpu tasks and they don't seem to be running correctly utilization runs erratically and temp of 38C is too low. Card is no good. Sorry for too much info. Too much coffee!

BilBg,
When I install my new r7 265 and set it up with the MSI driver, do I have to rerun lunatics?

No need

The app that do AstroPulse on OpenCL ATI AMD is only one (= the same for any OpenCL ATI AMD GPU):
AP6_win_x86_SSE2_OpenCL_ATI_r2399.exe

(If you open Lunatics_Win64_v0.42_setup.exe with 7-Zip you will see that)

If you use the previous installer Lunatics_Win64_v0.41_setup.exe the app in it is:
AP6_win_x86_SSE2_OpenCL_ATI_r1843.exe

(this older r1843 app needs deleting of .wisdom and .bin* files if you change the driver version.
Lunatics (re)install will do that for you (but edits you eventually did in app_info.xml will vanish if you (re)install Lunatics)
)
