Or rather, we need to get Big Agribusiness to stop their unnecessary pollution of our fields, Our Universities and Big Agriculture avoided wide-spread famine and deaths in India and elsewhere by developing strains of Japanese dwarf rice which gave these third world nations 25 years in which to get their acts together. From Wikipedia: During the mid-20th century, Borlaug led the introduction of these high-yielding varieties combined with modern agricultural production techniques to Mexico, Pakistan, and India. As a result, Mexico became a net exporter of wheat by 1963. Between 1965 and 1970, wheat yields nearly doubled in Pakistan and India, greatly improving the food security in those nations.[9] These collective increases in yield have been labeled the Green Revolution, and Borlaug is often credited with saving over a billion people worldwide from starvation.[10] He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1970 in recognition of his contributions to world peace through increasing food supply. |

we need to get ourselves and our farm animals to defecate little wrapped candies !! Glad to see you finally advocating a reduction in human population to reduce CO2 emissions, although your method of via starvation is an interesting pick. |

Oh that's not good .... http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/09/24/german-ministers-reportedly-were-warned-vw-test-beating-software/ At the same time they were busy declaring under perjury they didn't know about any bypass software to American investigators, they were busy telling German lawmakers about it. This only ends one way now. Lots and lots of executives in prison for long sentences and VW ceases. Green, it's a shell game. |

we need to get ourselves and our farm animals to defecate little wrapped candies !! it would be easier to export cows from India to slaughter in Australia or US? those get a lot of methane in the air, which is 300 more pollutant than CO2! ;) non-profit org. Play4Life in Zagreb, Croatia, EU |

End of the rope http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2015/09/27/vw-reportedly-warned-about-illegal-emissions-tricks-year-ago/ German weekly Bild am Sonntag reported Sunday that VW's internal investigation has found a 2007 letter from parts supplier Bosch warning Volkswagen not to use the software during regular operation. |

German weekly Bild am Sonntag reported Sunday that VW's internal investigation has found a 2007 letter from parts supplier Bosch warning Volkswagen not to use the software during regular operation. If it is only software the fix should be "easy". The hard part is how to recompense the people who purchased the cars, they bought 1 thing and now it is not what they were told or shown. |

German weekly Bild am Sonntag reported Sunday that VW's internal investigation has found a 2007 letter from parts supplier Bosch warning Volkswagen not to use the software during regular operation. Well, people aren't going to want the fix. The fix will lower fuel mileage and make performance worse. Who wants this? The government will have to force this recall on the owners or green means nothing. |

Independent lab tests have found that some Samsung TVs in Europe appear to use less energy during official testing conditions than they do during real-world use, raising questions about whether they are set up to game energy efficiency tests. The European commission says it will investigate any allegations of cheating the tests and the has pledged to tighten energy efficiency regulations to outlaw the use of so-called "defeat devices" into TVs or other consumer products. Several EU states raised similar concerns. The apparent discrepancy between real-world and test the performance of the TVs is reminiscent of the VW scandal that originated in the US last week. http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/oct/01/samsung-tvs-appear-more-energy-efficient-in-tests-than-in-real-life |

Does this make GREEN dirtier than oil?!!! The green game ... it is all a matter of greed and deception. |

A good sample of what can be done with a bit of wind and water: The greenest island in the world? ... Canary Islands, El Hierro, has a way of combining hydro and wind power that may allow it, one day, to get all its energy from renewable sources. In August it went for two hours without using its diesel power station at all - but this could be the start of a bigger green transformation... ... In July, Gorona del Viento saved 300 tonnes of fossil fuels, but that is predicted to rise to 500 tonnes per month before long - the equivalent of saving 40,000 barrels of oil and 19,000 tonnes of emitted CO2 per year... ... If the wind were, hypothetically, to stop blowing and the lower reservoir just happened to be empty at the time, the island could survive with uninterrupted hydro power for about two days, at average levels of consumption, according to Juan Pedro Sanchez. But if the lower reservoir was enlarged to match the size of the upper reservoir, that would stretch to five or six days - a big difference. Because the cost of generating electricity at Gorona del Viento is low, there is a tendency to regard all the diesel that might have been used, but wasn't, as a pure saving. The current council president, Belen Allende, calculates that over 20 years, by not burning 6,000 tonnes of diesel per year, El Hierro will save the central government about 80m euros. By Spanish law, the cost of electricity has to be the same all over the country, so bills haven't gone down... And yet the artificial costs of the Fossils (protectionistly) keep the fossils in business... (Note that for the UK, most days solar power provides over 20% of the electricity supply during the day. Also, wind power and the other renewables are now on par with the proportion of power supplied from coal... The end of the dirty fossils is moving to more a question of "How much more procrastination for more pollution to be endured?"...) http://www.pasadenastarnews.com/general-news/20151003/redondo-beach-woman-files-class-action-lawsuit-against-volkswagen-amid-emissions-cheating-scandal?source=most_viewed Its more than just VW... The scandal has now spread to Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Mazda and Mitsubishi, with Citroen and Audi also being suspect. http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/oct/09/mercedes-honda-mazda-mitsubishi-diesel-emissions-row Molden said Emissions Analytics had analysed about 50 Euro 6 diesels and 150 Euro 5 diesels, with only five having real-world NOx levels that matched the regulatory test. The failure of the EU’s NOx test to limit real-world emissions, and tackle air pollution, has been known for some years, but specific manufacturers have not been named. 200 car models tested... 5 had results that matched the official EU tests.
