Russia openly abducts people in Ukraine!
http://www.ukrinform.ua/eng/news/diplomats_russia_openly_abducts_people_in_ukraine_323535
By kidnapping of Ukrainian citizens in our country, the Russian side violates not only all the norms of the international law, but also the basic rules of decency and morality. Such actions of Russia will not remain without adequate response from Ukraine and the international community
Also, the Ukrainian diplomats call on the international community “to condemn unlawful actions of Russia aimed at systematic violation of the rights and freedoms of citizens of Ukraine and to increase pressure on the Russian leadership, whose impunity makes it a real threat to the civilized world.”

And Donbass gives away apartments as gifts!
There will be the first wedding in Novorossia. A field commander of the militia and a girl from Semenovka village, a front line of Slavyansk defense, are going to marry. Newlyweds will get an apartment confiscated from the "Privat-Bank" fund as a wedding gift.

"Motorola" is the field commander. One of Igor 'Stalin' Strelkin friends.

And there is alot of oil in that part of the world....

Still protecting European and Chinese Oil Needs.

And once again you are overstating the role of the US and understating the role of the rest of the world in the first Gulf War.

To be clear, yes the US contributed the most in the military sense. However they were not the only ones, given that there was a broad coalition which included the UK, France, Canada, Argentina and Australia. Furthermore, the whole operation was done under an UN resolution (resolution 678).

Now, as for the role of oil as a reason for the conflict, it was there but it was far from the only reason why the world intervened. Other reasons included the clear violation of Kuwaiti territorial integrity and blatant human right abuses by the Iraqi government (the controversial Nayriah testimony).

It seems as if we are forgetting the Crimea.
Is everything okay in there? I do not think so.

For the second time since Russia annexed the Crimea in March 2014, the Authorities have banned entry to a prominent Crimean Tatar leader over alleged 'extremism'.

And Crimea euphoria fades for some Russians.

Neighboring country of Kuwait, Iraqi Kurdistan.
The cause of Iraqi Kurdistan's relative prosperity is spelled oil.
The region pumps up 165,000 barrels of oil a day and is expected to be 45 billion barrels more.
Multinational firms have invested an estimated $ 17 billion in Iraqi Kurdistan in recent years.

I think that Sweden guard their interests in a better way.
Here is a funny story from Ebril in Iraq. So near, yet a world apart:)

Ukraine isn't in the news much. So the government in Kiev isn't totally in control of the country? If so that tells me there is strong popular support for Putin in the East. US will leave it with them to work out. After all not much oil there, not that US need any more oil. Gas (petrol) is $3.49 a gallon in NJ; it was over $4.00 five years ago. Fracking for oil was a world changer.

Strange. I have not seen any fracking for oil.
However for gas, mostly methane.
And in the US, now a lot of farmers complains of the explorations which are destroying the groundwater. A really dirty business.
Animals wont drink the contaminated water.
Some people gets sick.
And the water is now flammable!

Really? So you missed that the Ukrainian government has gotten its act together and is now retaking large swats of land from the rebels?

And support for Putin is decreasing now that direct military intervention from the Russians isn't helping. Putin might actually be doing the rest of Ukraine a favor. By not supporting he has perhaps in the eyes of some Russian Ukrainians betrayed them. Which might make supporting the government in Kiev easier.

Possibly in your Country. Fracking only produces Gas.
The US produces both Oil and Gas from Fracking.
Are you doing something wrong?

No. We dont have so much shales in my country. But US has.
The fracking technique is commonly applied to wells for shale gas, tight gas, tight oil, and coal seam gas.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydraulic_fracturing
So your right. A part of the output is oil.
And what is your point?

There is a Swedish community near me called Vasa Park.

If you dont want go to Vasa Park, New Jersey there is also Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan where you can enjoy great Swedish meals such as herring and hash potatoes.
More than 10 thousands of the Erbil citizans know Swedish and therefore the language English (or is it American its called today?)
