How do you calculate how much electricity is being consumed per hour when using SETI@Home at 100%?

Computer specifications:

iMac (Late 2013)

OS X Version 1.8.5

21.5-inch display

2.9GHz Intel Core i5

8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM

1TB Serial ATA Hard Drive

NVIDIA GK107 GX graphics

Power Consumption
idle: 37 watts
CPU Max: 94 watts

Thermal Output
idle: 127 BTU/h
CPU Max: 322 BTU/h

Well, it depends on a couple of things. First you need to know what the cost per Kilowatt hour is where you live. Next you need to know how much wattage an hour your computer as a whole (everything not just the cpu) uses in an hour. Most store bought computers have 300 watt power source. Apple says 94 watts max under ideal conditions (temp 72F) otherwise add 50 watts so lets just say 150 Watts. So let just say it's 10.5 cent per kilowatt hour on 24/7 then for 1 week the cost is $2.52/week $10.08/month $131.04/month

Hope this helps

sorry was supposed to be $131.04/year. Per hour is $0.015 or 1.5 cents
