Greetings, I have recently started running SETI again and as I do not have my MacBook Pro on very often, the tasks are still running however the deadline date has passed. Do I just let them continue to run? |

The nearest deadline shown is 21 May 2014 http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=1787453&offset=0&show_names=0&state=1&appid= Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

Greetings, I have recently started running SETI again and as I do not have my MacBook Pro on very often, the tasks are still running however the deadline date has passed. Do I just let them continue to run? It sort of depends on how long past the deadline. If a task is not returned by its deadline, a replacement is sent. If the original task is returned before the replacement is returned, they both may get credit. If the replacement is returned before the original task, the original will not get credit. BOINC WIKI |

Thank you! I must apologise, it is AstroPulse that is running behind the deadline not SETI. I moved to Australia from overseas and stopped running SETI for quite some time and when I downloaded some tasks recently, AstroPulse works came in with it. |

Your computer do not show (on web) to have any AstroPulse tasks: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=1787453 So this AstroPulse WU (if it exist locally in your BOINC) was probably done already by other people's computers and removed from your list. The result from you will not be accepted. If the AstroPulse task is "behind the deadline" for more than a few days - abort it (or if it is near finish at >95% you may out of curiosity complete it and see the response of the server in the Event Log (Ctrl+Shift+E)) Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

Many thanks. It is currently at 96% so I shall let it finish. There are two more AstroPulse task waiting to start so I shall abort those and just leave SETI. |

Since your CPU have 'Number of processors 8': http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=1787453 ... I wonder how they could be "waiting to start"? If they are past deadline they must had been running in 'High priority' mode Do you see 8 tasks Running (of any kind)? Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |
