:( still can't get my head round the fact that they eat dogs in Switzerland

What? I was going to say Asians instead of people but wanted to be politically correct; I had no idea people is more correct.

So the St. Bernard brings them a drink with their meal?

I've eaten dog in Morocco. Bland and tasteless, not recommended.

Was it placed in boiling water alive? Dog gourmets say the more they suffer the better they taste. The French also have an unusual way of prepairing a bird dinner.

Even by French gastronomic standards the method of preparing the prized – and increasingly rare – ortolan bunting for the table seems somewhat extreme. Vaunted for its delicate flesh and bones, the sparrow-sized bird is eaten whole after being drowned in armagnac.

No idea, it was in chunks on a plate.

I have also tried that (it's technically banned, but when did that ever stop the French?) whilst visiting a university friend in Rochefort a few years ago when i was still an undergrad, and it's extremely nice!

MPs have rejected an attempt to force shops, supermarkets and anywhere serving food to clearly label products containing halal or kosher meat.

That doesn't make sense. If food is kosher it would be labeled and certified, it costs more also.

Back on the topic of the thread:

The random Muslim scare story generator: separating fact from fiction
Halal meat is on every menu; sharia law is taking over; the niqab is undermining the nation. Ever noticed how often the same old stories keep appearing about Muslims in Britain? Here's the truth about these and other media myths

Good article. I work with many of the Islamic faith at the university, and it soon becomes clear that they're not 'Muslims', they're just people.

The Muslims in Newark New Jersey are all converts who were told the religion of their parents is the religion of the "blue eyed devil".

If food isn't labeled "halal" and only "halal" is permitted how do they know it is so? Kosher food MUST be labeled as such; in the US of A goyim avoid kosher because it costs more.
