Greetings SETIzens,

This morning I thought I was going to have to use my laptop and apologize to my wingmen. That is no longer the case.

Tore PC apart to see about hooking the front IO panel to my sound card. No can do, connectors are not the same on the card. Put the PC back together and... Oh crap, it won't boot. Power comes on, goes off seconds later, comes on, goes off seconds later, does this about 5 or 6 times then when power stayed on and booting into Windows, power lost, does not comeback on.

Tore the PC apart again to make sure I didn't screw something up like knock some power cables loose or something. Nothing, everything looks good. Put it back together fired it up, same thing. Oh crap!

Though on it for a while and determined that perhaps the PSU has died. Went to Best Buy and got a Thermaltake 850W PSU, 80 PLUS Bronze, 5 year warranty and went home.

Took the PC apart, again, replaced my Ultra 550W PSU with the new one, ran the cables to where needed, put the covers back on and hooked everything back up to it. Moment of truth. Flipped the switch on the PSU, got power. Ok, good. Turned on my monitor and hit the button on the front panel. We got power! PC booted up and I am now typing this message.

So, when I do get around to building my new PC, I won't have to get a new PSU and I can do it at my leisure and not have to rush it hoping I can... Oh wait. My current work units would be lost causing grief for my wingmen.
