My classic seti is still working through its work unit but when I installed boinc I just got loads of messages - detaching from profect, URL error, can't resolve hostname - amongst others. hould I uninstall my classic seti or have I set it up wrong. I am using windows xp.

First, the can't resolve hostname is probably because of leading or trailing spaces.

Second, there appears to be a shortage of WU.

Third, Classic S@H and BOINC S@H do not always play well together. On some OSs classic S@H runs at a higher priority than the BOINC projects, so BOINC will be starved for CPU time.

There is another BOINC project that is in public alpha. It can be reached at http://predictor.scripps.edu/. Attach to both if you are having trouble getting S@H WU.

In the end, it comes down to your choice when you switch to BOINC and what projects you attach to.
