Message 1510702 - Posted: 1 May 2014, 10:42:43 UTC

Доброго дня.

Имею конфиг по железу:
Intel Pentium G3420
ASUS H87M-E
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 650
DDR 3 1600 MHz 8Gb

ОС Win 7 x64

Boinc ver.7.2.42(x64)

<cc_config>
<options>
<use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>
</options>
</cc_config>

Эффекта нет.

Лог запуска Boinc.

01.05.2014 12:23:07 | | OpenCL CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU G3420 @ 3.20GHz (OpenCL driver vendor: Intel(R) Corporation, driver version 3.0.1.10878, device version OpenCL 1.2 (Build 76413))

You have an OpenCL driver for your CPU, but unfortunately the HD Graphics in your Pentium G3420 doesn't support OpenCL: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-033757.htm.

The only Intel GPUs that this project (and other BOINC projects) support are those built into the third or fourth generation Core processors with OpenCL 1.2 capability. Sorry.

Это досадно. Haswell и такой облом ((.

Что ж, спасибо за разъяснение.

This is probably as good a place to ask as any: after I installed my new GTX 750 Ti in my work desktop, I noticed these two lines in the BOINC startup:
01-May-2014 15:21:52 [---] OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GTX 750 Ti (driver version 337.50, device version OpenCL 1.1 CUDA, 2048MB, 1867MB available, 2409 GFLOPS peak)
01-May-2014 15:21:52 [---] OpenCL CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz (OpenCL driver vendor: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., driver version 2.0 (sse2,avx), device version OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (938.2))

I'd not noticed before that I have an Intel CPU apparently using an AMD driver!
Anyway, is it possible to use the Intel GPU as well as the Nvidia, and how? I'm currently using a Lunatics install on a Win7 PC.

It would, in theory, be possible to use an Intel GPU alongside another vendor's GPU. The Lunatics installer doesn't yet include a suitable application, but when the various application developers next supply me with a coherent set of revised/updated/tested applications, I'm certainly intending to include intel_gpu (which I have working well) among the available choices in v0.42

However, you are looking at BOINC's detection of an OpenCL driver for the CPU. That doesn't help anyone at all: we have efficient optimised native CPU apps already (and better to come), and adding an extra abstraction layer won't improve their performance. I don't know of a single developer working on OpenCL for CPU.

Unfortunately, the i7-2600 CPU (like mine http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=7022545) has an HD2500 Integrated GPU (iGPU), which does not support OpenCL. The i7-3xxx and i7-4xxx have HD4xxx iGPUs which DO support OpenCL. And yes, those iGPUs can be used with a discrete graphics card also. My i7-4770k http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=7265951 with four GTX750Ti cards has run using the iGPU but it slows the four graphics cards down too much. Perhaps it is bandwidth limited somewhere, so I stopped using the iGPU.
