Robbed of 19 years of his life and Denzel robbed of an Oscar. Thank you for posting this (missed the blurb in Wiggo's OP.) When I saw this I realized I had it in the "to see" pile forgotten as I didn't know what it was. Needless to say, it isn't there anymore. The saddest part watching it is realizing that he was fortunate enough to live in a state where capital punishment wasn't in effect. It could have easily been otherwise, and yet another innocent man would have been put to death and his story may never have been told, nor would he have been there to help the dozen or so other wrongly convicted people who he helped overturn the convictions of. I'm quite happy to be a Canadian after watching it though! :^) I'm also amazed I'd never heard of him before and he even lived in Toronto, where I live! |
