The Scottish tourist industry makes millions every year perpetuating this myth, and it keeps a lot of people in jobs. Of course Nessie doesn't and never has existed, but it's a lot of good fun, and long may it last :-) Visited Loch Ness in 1981, a pit-stop returning to HMS Faslane on a bus trip to the Wm. Teacher's bottling plant in Glasgow. Box lunch at a local pub and some time in the Gift Shop. Nessie chose not to grace us with her(?) presence, but still a lovely area and a fun stop for a bunch of American submarine sailors..... Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired ID: 1506578 · |

I play at the Irish Penny Whistle and the English recourder.... I have a practise chanter but I have never put it on a set of war pipes. Mostly left handed I must say. You should see the eyes of Pipe Majors when they see me play. I will switch hands if I feel like it.....
