No red moon for us in Geelong Australia at moonrise, 5:56 pm AEST, Tuesday 15th April. Only cloud cover.

30 minutes later we got a brief glimpse through a break in the clouds.

There were about 50 people where I took the last 2 photos on the cliff top at Limeburners point watching for the red moon. A few had cameras set up on tripods. It was a little dissapointing with all the cloud cover.

Sorry about the image quality. I was using my iPhone. My good camera left me.

Yeah cloud here to which blocked most of the view, but I did get to see it about 30mins after moon rise though it was just slightly tinged red.

Cheers.

It's a shame about the weather. Would have been good otherwise.

I didn't have much better view. Some high clouds came through right about midnight, made everything fuzzy. Neighbor's yard floodlight reflecting off my back windows didn't help much. When's the next one?

It was cloudy here. We wondered around the garden for a bit trying to see the moon, but we did not succeed. :(

The 8th October here so I guess that'll be the 7th for you Donald over there.

Cheers.

Miss the 'Blood Moon'? Here's Your Next Chance

The next one is due Oct. 8, followed by blood moons April 4, 2015, and Sept. 28, 2015, according to NASA.

It was fun to watch when it was visible. Sitting there right next to Mars which is always red. I wonder what horrible omens ancient civilizations would have attached to this event. Maybe a war in the Crimea.

Wasn't exactly 'blood red' here in Hawaii. More like a deep copper color, kind of like a penny floating up there. Pretty good viewing, just scattered clouds so it was very visible. Looking forward to the next one.

I slept through it. They predicted we wouldn't see it anyway due to clouds, but it turned out they moved off just in time.

Hmm. April 4, 2015 is a Saturday, so maybe I can stay up late for that one.

a little known fact... could this be why it wasn't visible in Africa...? :)
