Both choices are good low powered card. I am thinking about the R7 250X to replace my HD5750 myself.
You can also use the Intel HD 2500 in your i5 to do work with if you wish.

My preferences are set to use the Intel GPU. Am I not using it?
And THANKS!

Obviously not according to that computer's application details, http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/host_app_versions.php?hostid=7254436.

[edit] Check your computing preferences both in project, http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/prefs.php?subset=project, and locally in the BOINC Manager.

Cheers.

The details only show the CPU application being used with no Intel GPU one being present.

Cheers.

I'm not seeing what you are saying. I turned on Boinc on the machine I have access to (i7) and made sure all local preferences are set to use GPU.
I see no difference in the details.

Look at your computers, the task lists of your HD Graphics hosts don't have 7.03 (opencl_intel_gpu_sah) tasks, and the application details page shows they never have done 7.03 (opencl_intel_gpu_sah) tasks:

Computers belonging to Computer Addiction

Application details for host 7105294

Application details for host 7254436

I reset my preferences JIC.

Make sure you set 'Use Intel GPU' to' Yes' in the setiathome project preferences for the venue that the Intel GPU hosts are on, ie default, home, school or work.

This system is using its built in Intel GPU with the stock applications. In the Applications column you can see "SETI@home v7 v7.03 (opencl_intel_gpu_sah)"

Okay, I see what you guys are looking at and I see none of my systems are using available GPU.
I don't know why. Everything local and in my global preferences are set to use GPU. AMD, Intel and Nvidia.
Hmm.

Ahh! After installing two 260x and one 250x I'm starting to see the copro in the work units.

You mean those 'AMD Bonaire' GPUs in 'Computers belonging to Computer Addiction'?:
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/hosts_user.php?userid=4776

Since they are in other computers they have absolutely no effect on using your 'Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600'

And in fact those 2 'AMD Bonaire' GPUs (in computers 7254436 and 7105345) are NOT used for SETI@home probably because the driver version is very new and don't
have/report CAL version
(This have to be fixed by SETI@home lab/admins, you can overcome this by installing optimized apps (using app_info.xml) but probably it's over your current knowledge)

Not sure what you managed to reset, but it worked ;-)

I see the I7 machine is now returning valid Intel GPU work.
