I live in Louisville, Kentucky, and we have a horse race every year, called The Kentucky Derby. There is something called Thunder over Louisville that kicks off a three week festival preceding the Derby. I like the fireworks, which happen at 9:30 pm EST, but there is an air show preceding it.

Actually, I am experiencing thunder for the first time this year right now.

The first one rattled the cats, LOL. You never saw such big kitty eyes.

As I understand it, they were shelved for a while amidst the 'austerity days' by Obama's misguided efforts to right the economy.

I believe they only recently were awarded their flying privileges again.

No, it wasn't Obama's efforts to right the economy that caused their loss of funding, but if I say more, it'll have to move to Politics. Let's not go there.

You go there, if you feel you need to.

It's about 5 o'clock in the evening, and I don't know what they have in mind, but more can be seen at http://www.wave3.com/category/50862/thunder-over-louisville

I'll probably be asleep when the fireworks go off at 9:30, but those are very intense.

Thanks for the links Gordon.

Air Show schedule

I liked "Fat Albert". The Blue Angels colour scheme on that C130 is great.

I agree with Donald on the point, and I agree with everyone about keeping this non-political. I recently made my first foray into there, did two rounds with Raistmer, and got the heck out without even seeing if he replied to me again.

Whoever you blame for it, it was the sequester that grounded the Angels, Thunderbirds, the Army something Knights, and probably something else I can't think of.

That would be the Armys Golden knights. They put on one spectacular show. Ive seen the USAF Thunder Birds 3 times. Allways awesome. Never had the chance to see the Blue Angels. I did see the Canadian Air Force team fly over Niagra falls though. I was impressed.
