I think what is very telling is that events like this are so incredibly rare here.

An attack on Canadian parliament like this has never happened before, yet how many attacks have we been hearing about on Obama just recently?

So if anything, this is actually evidence that gun control works wonders. Sure, gun violence still happens, and will always happen, but its a lot rarer in places with good common sense gun control laws.

But they can not be prevented, which seems to be the selling point of gun control.

Murder also can't be prevented. Does that mean there shouldn't be laws against murder?

Ive never met a proponent of gun control laws that argues that gun control will completely 100% of the time prevent gun violence. The only people who Ive seen arguing that point are people who are against gun control laws when they are talking about what pro gun control people supposedly argue. Like you just did.

In the end: It is about who to trust (Individuals - Controller's), and who can do the MOST damage (Individual's - Controller's).

Again, that argument only makes sense if an armed populace actually prevents a government from doing all that damage. It doesn't. What you have done is allowing to let individuals do more damage as well, besides also leaving the capacity of the government to kill millions of people.

I speak from personnel first hand knowledge. I have a relative who should be in a nut house. But he hasnt done anything bad yet. He has been arrested numerous time for acting like a lout. Resisting arrest,Driving with out a license or insurance. He is violent and should be on medicine that he refuses to take. He is a useless piece of human flesh who should be in some kind of incarceration but isnt.
