TL, your city is becoming famous, 408 quakes, so far, the 1st one on Oct 13th was at 0.8 magnitude, though below 2.5 you won't feel any, according to Live Science. Oopsie, sorry TL, Danville then, but San Ramon is mentioned, for some reason Danville isn't. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

You guys down in California get way too much fun, it is less exciting up here in the Puget Sound region. Don't worry, Seattle has it faults just waiting to surprise everyone. |

http://earthquakescanada.nrcan.gc.ca/histor/15-19th-eme/1700/1700-eng.php I am not that well checked out on things seismic, but if the history books are right, the west coast of north America will be a very dangerous place to be. I was reading up on the great tidal waves of 1700. One can only hope there is some other reason for the destruction and chaos seen in Japan and Cascadia. |

Don't forget the New Madrid fault, you could feel that Celt, even in Canada... The last time that let go big time, they felt it in Boston. I hope I'm not in downtown Chicago when it happens. I'm too far away to have felt that quake in the City of San Bernardino, that's about 75 miles away... I have an Earthquake resistant foundation system under My home, it's taken a 5.0 with no problem at all. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Looks as if that was part of a bigger picture - I just looked at the USGS site and there's been a string of quakes in a line heading North East from the 7.1 that Gary has reported. Most of the rest have been in the 3-4 region. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

The unusually high activity at the time is what prompted me to start this thread and it doesn't seem to have slowed down since (if anything it's getting more active). :-O Cheers. |

I'm not holding my breath, if Jellystone blows then it blows but I lay odds it won't be in my lifetime. |
